Sad but true... you can pretty much give away anything you want here and no one will do anything about it.

Hopefully that covers the 'DP is liable' claim. Now onto the files:

This package of scripts is available to purchase via 101 different sellers on forums like DP, via eBay, turnkey seller sites, etc. 'Resell rights' is a term used loosely, and too many people buy them. The only people to make money are sellers with no original product to showcase, so they sell this crap for $3 a pop.

The point of DLDB.org has been to simply allow free downloads of oversold product. I have purchased resell rights to everything on the site (just like everyone else has), and with no minimum PoS, I can't sell them for whatever I like, including $0.

I am also aware that mistakes can happen and that copyrighted material could inadvertantly end up on the site. I will remove material reported to me as copyrighted within seconds. In this case, sizfigureblogger reported to me that the software was copyrighted. When I responded to ask him which of the 85 pieces of software were copyrighted, he told me that all of them were written by his friend.

Those 85 pieces of software were chosen randomly by me out of a pile of 40 GB of 'resellable' goods. Chances I happened to choose 85 files coded by the same guy? Slim.

The only people angry with this are the folks who aren't able to make their lunch money peddling other people's code anymore.

And to top it off, DP obviously isn't to be held responsible for files that I upload to my server. DP is one of about 20 forums that have a link to DLDB.org. You've got a whole lot more papers to file if you plan to sue everyone pal.

Nothing was being sold for green rep, green rep was encouraged in return. Everything is offered for free.

EDIT: That Price - Green rep thing was a joke, not meant to confuse people. Mods have graciously allowed the thread to be re-posted with that text removed. My apologies is anyone was confused :)

To be clear, if there is no minimum point of sale included in the resell rights, they can be sold for $0. That is what's happening here.

    True.
If the resell license does not state a minimum price, or say that it can not be given away, a buyer with rights can give it away or sell it for one penny.

More and more, I see new products coming on that have now included in the resell rights license wordage to the effect the product can not be given away free by itself (you can bundle it with other goodies), can not be sold on ebay, has to be sold at a minimum price, etc.

Absent all that, one can give away anything that one has bought (or got free) that has resell rights attached.

These 85 scripts are whored all over the net!
From ebay and script sites selling for a buck, giving them away free, bundling them with other products, etc.

Actually, lot of those 85 scripts are old stuff not worth having or using.
