hi, i'm trying to rank on Google.ro for 2 keywords on a page. For backlinking i used 4-5 article directories (unique articles on each), with title "zara romania" and "zara". For "zara romania" i'm ranking ok, the problem is with the "zara" keyword, i don't know why but i'm ranking on page 40. The page is http://www.ehainedefirma.com/brand/zara-romania and keywords are: "zara" - main keyword "zara romania" - second keyword. This problem i have with all my articles. Any suggestions how can i resolve this problem? Sorry for my english.
If i may ask., Did you change all your meta keywords? You can put all the main keywords on the tags and aside from that, what is the main product of the site so i can recommend a keyword.
as Directory Madness said, i didnt put any meta keywords because google don't pay attention for keywords meta tags.
Your targeted URL should have relevant and quality content, second you need do quality and legitimate work that will be definitely helpful get good ranking ..
You should build good quality backlinks and use some retweet using your target link.Don't expect that you are going to rank fast.
I did some research on your site, and for that page, you are anchoring very heavily with only one keyword "Zara" and only have one backlink that I can see that has "Zara Romania". Also, looking at your meta tags for that page, it appears that you only have the Meta description tag used. You need to have the H1 and Title meta tags in there as well, otherwise it Google won't know for sure that your page is focusing on "Zara Romania" You are competing for a very competitive term, so it will take some time. Take a look at this report for 'zara romania' and notice how much competition there is for that phrase. The sites you are competing against, are almost ALL in the DMOZ. That's a lot of authority... However, there is hope. Those pages that are ranking are there because of their native authority, and not for the authority for that keyword. There are very few backlinks, and this is indeed a keyword where you could win. It's too bad the exact match domain words are taken.
I did some more research for you. This keyword doesn't have as much traffic, i admit, but it's one where you should start getting immediate traffic. It should rank very quickly. The keyword is "zara online romania" and the first page of Google is completely unoptimized. Take a look: The highlighted lines show there are almost no backlinks at all, and the average PageRank is zero. That would get you serveral hundred visitors each month from that keyword, and also will get lateral keywords too. Good luck, USE that one if you're not already going after it...
Hi somogold, Thanks for your question. I use several different tools when doing my research. The pic attached to the earlier posts is from Traffic Travis, and I like their way their reports look. There's a free version, but the pro version costs around $100. I also use Market Samurai, KeywordSpy.com and Google Adwords Keyword tool. What do you use?
Thank you for your help. The thing is "zara" has 90 000 exact searches a month and "zara romania" 22.000 for my country. Even "zara romania" has 22k exact searches, i don't have more than 5-6 visits per day from this keyword. I didnt understand why "zara" wasnt in first 100 page results and "zara romania" is on #6-7. The same thing is with other 6-7 articles. I don't think it's about the competition, after all after page 3-4 are irelevant results in Google.ro and on position #3 is a Hotel called Zara. In your png i saw some domains not very relevant for the search. Are you sure you used Google.RO (Google Romania) as search engine? I had a EMD ranking good for "zara" and "zara romania" but it got penalized by panda(low quality pages) in february, so i tried another approach. @mkjohn: i don't understand. My title for the page is "Zara Romania - produse ieftine", and i have the H1 as "Zara Romania". @simogold i don't expect to rank on first page on 1-2 weeks, but the pages are around 2-3 months old (or more) and the main keyword isnt even in SERPS.
I did a search for Google.ro and with Romanian language. Is your site ranking for English or Romanian language? Regarding the results, the shorter terms will take a while. I'd try to get your site into the DMOZ directory, which seems to be a major factor in your niche rankings.
Just Google.ro without Pages written in romanian. Ro users don't change to written in romanian, they use the default settings. I don't think my site will be accepted in DMOZ. Maybe it takes more time, i don't know. the EMD didn't take that much time to rank for "zara". I see a difference to another article who was in the same situation. The main keyword from not in SERPS is now on position #30, but still... i don't have competition. On the first Google page are pages for tags from vBulletin forums with no backlinks to them, facebook page on position #2 and others like that. I don't get it. Should i submit my pages to social bookmarking sites to get more backlinks?
EMD domains are that powerful... Regarding your question about backlinks, it take a while. Make sure you have the Title, Description, and H1 tags on that page set to the exact keyword you're targeting. Are you doing that already? Also, are you using LSI keywords in your content? i checked my settings, and actually, in that app, i didn't search with Romanian. I was just Google.ro
Let's take the first example in the first post. The page: http://www.ehainedefirma.com/brand/zara-romania main keyword: Zara (this is the keyword not ranking in SERPS). title: "Zara Romania - produse ieftine". h1 is "Zara Romania". Should i change it to "Zara" and put an h2 with "Zara Romania" ? now i don't have on the page h2, h3, etc. Just one h1. i don't think i can use LSI keywords, because the main keyword is a brand.
I just ran the report again, and YOU ARE on the first page for the phrase "Zara Romania" That's you, right?
LSI keywords are always in everything that has authority. You can't avoid using LSI keywords, if you are actually talking about something in detail... They are the 'subject' keywords of any specific subject...
Yes, for Zara Romania i'm ranking ok. The problem is with keyword Zara. I said that in the first post. I will make some research to learn about LSI keywords. For now i want to resolve this big problem.
Regarding the phrase Zara, I notice that there are several incredibly big authority sites on the first page, and the top two positions have Zara in the domain name. Again, the exact match would have helped you here... Too bad though. Take a look at how optimized the overall sites are on the first page: There is very little of the 'basics' that are not done. If your site had a green check in all of those boxes, and you optimized for that keyword, then it would be a lot easier to rank. However, you're trying to rank a subdirectory/page for that word. Personally, I would not take on that particular phrase, unless I had an EMD. If you check the lsi keywords, and put them in your description tag(which you don't have on that page) you will have done a LOT of the heavy lifting. Google is ranking you for long tail keywords so they have some trust already. The single words are hard to rank, so of course it might take some time. Anyway, hope I've been of some help to you.
