Black Hat SEO or Black hat search engine optimization is normally defined as the methods or techniques that are being used in order to rank higher on different search engines using prohibited tactics and ways. This is considered as unethical SEO tecniques. Black hat SEO techniques can give a website a short term gains in terms of ranking unlike white hat SEO that can provide a website a long term gains in terms of ranking. You cannot solely rely on utilizing Black hat SEO methods for the risks of being penalized by search engines are higher.

That does not mean blackhat seo. Blackhat seo is cloaking, creating subdomain, auto surfing and doorway page.

as per my knowledge Black Hat seo is defined as techniques that are used to get high PR in short time by using an unethical method. It breaks search engine rules and regulations. But in future it create problems like your site will be banned.

    Hi Charles,

Do you mean, you are not sure why they want to build mass backlinks to their websites using Senuke X, Xrumer & co? Am I interpreting this right? If that is what you mean- well these tools create a lot of automated links in a short amount of time (although they can and should be scheduled out). So you can see why some people prefer to do it this way, rather than manually building links. The catch is that the quality of these links- blog comments, forum profile links, low pr sites; are generally much lower quality, therefore you have to build a lot more of them.

Of course there is a LOT more to SEO than just building links and I encourage you to do more research. But in the most general sense, the more backlinks (with anchortext) a site/page has, the better it will rank for particular keywords.

Was that jitendrashukla fellow also a bot, or was he just trying to up his post count/promote his sig. link? I really don't understand why people try to spam the forums for. It is useless for backlinking purposes- Sig and post links on Digitalpoint are NOFOLLOW. Thats right people, they are NOFOLLOW. So why the hell would you want to spam the forum with nofollow links??

The other MAJOR reason you wouldn't want to spam the forums (or write lame responses like "I agree" to up your post count) is because the SIGNATURE link version of threads on Digitalpoint DO NOT EVEN GET INDEXED BY GOOGLE! Thats right folks and all spammers alike- listen up:

    Do this simple step:
    1) Log out of your Digitalpoint account
    2) Go back to the thread your spammed/posted in

Do you see signature links??? Thats right, They aren't there! Revelation!

    Don't believe me?

Go to Google search and do this query:
    cache:link-of-thread.com
    eg: cache:http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2533215

    Again, no sig. links.

The only point of sig links is NOT for backlinking purposes, but rather for the potential traffic and promotion they might generate. If you spam your lame ass posts everywhere, NO ONE will take you seriously and click on your link! GET IT??

So PLEASE STOP SPAMMING DIGITALPOINT FORUMS

    /RANT

Just like many of the idiots who register at DP to spam for signature links and ask idiot questions or copy and paste from other sites.

Because someone taught them it is "SEO" and really good, that Google likes it, etc. Look in the Google, SEO and Link Development forums. Full of junk advice that often just amounts to spam and 99% against Google's Webmaster Guidelines.

Signature links are not only nofollow, but aren't even visible when logged out. (Except for Premium Members and even then it's not a guarantee their links will be followed.) They are just stupid and don't realise. (But I understand you realise that, as per your comment later in your post. ;-)) They rely upon outdated lists of forums that are supposed to be "dofollow", for example:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2464978

It's really funny when these spamming fools finally realise that the signature links aren't visible:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2479858

If only they would, but that's too much like hard work for most people (or just too difficult).

    Exactly.

Great rant. If only they would.

Thanks Ryan for backing me up. For a while there I thought I was the crazy one. Its like bloody groupthink in here at times. One moron backs up another one and it starts an avalanche of misinformation or spam: For example, this thread:

What do you think about forum posting ?

Its good to know there are at least a few sane and genuine people on here.
