In 1970s when PLO was using bombing, there was a interview with some of their leaders and a journalist was criticizing them for using bombs. I don´t remember who it was but he answered: "Gives us tanks and airplanes and we will not use bombs anymore".
People fight with what they have. Give Palestinian children automatic rifles and I am sure they will start showing the guns and training on those instead. If you look at the picture, the Jewish children have real guns while the Palestinian boy has just some alminium sheets rolled over and conacted around his waist. These guys cannot afford even a real sueside belt.

 

It reminds me of another quote attributed to a person with a similarly self destructive obsession.

Of course the character who spoke those words didn't send his young children to die for his hate's sake, but the outcome is essentially the same.
