Hey folks, I've been here for over a year now. I am here because it has very good potential for earning money, provided you know your tricks well. I know this theme has been here, for many years. In my opinion, it is too outdated and boring. For a forum, with so much of potential, you must have a web 2.0 or a decent skin, that would keep users coming in. Most of the online users here are guests. Only 20 or 30% of the online users are registered members. Why is this happening ? It could be because of this theme. It is not attractive/professional. I am also surprised that there has been very little efforts to change/improve the looks of this forum. There are lots of designers over here, who can bring up an awesome new theme for DP. What do you guys think ? Do you agree with me ? How awesome would it be, to have a new look for DigitalPoint ? Waiting to hear your opinions. Regards, Froomple
Hmm, its only 2 months more. Well, that's not the main point of discussion here. :| @DigitalPoint, i was hoping such an answer. I guess then there'd be no change here.
We always make tweaks/improvements to it... so if you have specific suggestions, feel free. But we aren't going to change it for no reason other than to change it.
I guess the better word would have been to say "almost" and not "over" since you have been here under a year and not over a year. As for the template, there is no problem with the current one. Change for change sake is usually pointless.
I like DP's theme. Some on other forums used horrible colours that couldn't be changed without an addon, or creating some custom CSS to override it. Here the colours aren't hard on the eyes, the theme is quick and I can read the main body text. Covers all I personally need for a forum. I think you'll find other reasons for a lot of guest traffic (Shawn has mentioned before that some of the stupid posts in general forums get a lot of longtail traffic).
