I have heard that by using bulk payment option, we can save lots of fees. I guess paypal just charges flat $ 1.0 for all bulk payments ? I would like to know the following : a) where exactly is the bulk payment option present in paypal and how to use it (the procedure) b) can we use it just just pay one person at a time ? c) how much fees is charged under it per transaction. Thanks, Majaal
The option you are referring to is PayPal Masspay. Earlier this year, PayPal disabled this for most accounts unless you call and request that it is enabled. Although emailing PayPal through their contact form usually leads nowhere, I believe they enabled Masspay on one of my accounts through my email request. The fee is 2%, capped at $1 for US to US payments. It was raised to a maximum of $20 for US to any other country. Masspay sent from certain Asian countries including China, Hong Kong, and Japan have a max fee of $50. Masspay transactions are limited to $10,000 USD. Oddly, PayPal blocks accounts accounts for using Masspay sometimes... even though they still offer it. Since you have to upload a text file containing the payment details, it's not really feasible to ask customers to pay with Masspay. There is no minimum to the amount or number of recipients you pay using Masspay. What country are you sending to and from?
Thanks for your reply. I operate my account from India. Can you also let me know, if you are aware of the minimum fees per mass pay and if there is a minimum limit on the number of recipients that needs to be included for the same. Any relevant link will be appreciated. Thanks again, Majaal
In India, Mass payment option has disabled a while back ago since I have been used Mass option to transfer or receive the payment.
Thanks for the reply. Can you also let me know what will be the charges of sending $ 350 from a MC or Visa CC to an American PP (Is that allowed in the first case). Pls also provide rate list link, if possible; I will highly appreciate it. Thanks, Majaal
Alright, I guess its no more working for Indians, so we can end this discussion here. Thanks all of you for your feedback
