I am under eighteen but I want to create a PayPal account to buy on ebay.ca. Am I likely to be found out? Are there many cases of this? Also, my bank account is "The (Scotibank) Getting There Savings Program for Youth" for 19 and unders. Will this affect my odds of being found out?
As long as you have a bank account/ debit card under your name linked to the account, you should be fine.
its all fine im 17 i have pay-pal , and my bank clearly states im 17 ive not had any issues all been verified OK I just put im 7 months older
If you input fake details, you will find it difficult to recover your account if it becomes limited. I suggest you have your parents open a account for you in there name. Regards, HA
I had a Paypal account when I was under 18, when I got above that I simply changed the info. Before I had it connected to my mom's name. Find a friend if your parents won't do it.
I opened an account when I was 17 and verified it as soon as I got it. I haven't had any problems. I say go for it.
I have asked my mom but she refuses because she has never bought online and therefore thinks it is unsafe to buy stuff online. She doesn't even wait to find out more about what PayPal is or about online shopping, just a blank "No." It's impossible to talk to her, so I've decided to do it myself.
You can use all legit info but your age. Change your age as soon as you hit 18 to your real age though. I don't see a problem with this other than breaking their TOS (which are horrible to begin with). Just make sure your bank doesn't specifically state that you are under 18 in the name of the account (it shouldn't, but check anyways).
I would recommend having your parent set up an account for you to avoid complications down the road. If you're just buying, you should be fine. They won't know your age.
you know they do have a paypal option where you can create an account for teenages. basically your parents sign up account with you so you can shop anywhere you want legally. as long as you don't buy things you are not supposed to, you will be fine.
