They're all a shot in the dark. It's possible that someone at some time might want one of these domains but I wouldn't count on it. If they don't sell within the next year you might want to let them drop.
None of them hit on any major subject category on the online business market... You're only going to be able to get offers from small business owners/startups... Don't expect anything above 3 figures. Like the second poster said, I would let them drop if you can't get a sales.
I see potential in only 3 of them: GarageDoorGuide PokerSharks NeverGraduated "Potential" does not mean they WILL sell -- only that they might sell if handled properly. Drop the others. If you'd like to cut your losses and sell now, I can offer a low price.
Some of these domain names have changed hands more than once at prices higher than just REG fees - that is why I find it hard to accept these appraisals. The most valuable domain is "newgolfshoes.com" . It was ranking 1st page on google for several valuable search terms before it got hit with malware virus. If you look at other domains in this category similar they go for very low $X,XXX - weird im being told its reg fee....just saying.
Not being a golfer and not owning any golf shoes myself, I just find it hard to imagine that amateur golfers are chafing at the bit to find out about the latest releases of footwear. It's much easier to go to the local shop and try on a pair of shoes when the old ones wear out than to order shoes sight-unseen online. NewShoes or just plain GolfShoes would be better, obviously. Perhaps you know the market better than I do; so it's possible a developed website could make some money and rely on this as a decent brand. But I doubt this domain would sell for a high amount. Personally, I own NewSkis{.com}. Skis are more expensive than shoes; this domain is 2 words instead of 3; skiers are more enthusiastic about trying out a vital piece of new equipment than golfers would be about a replacement for a worn out pair of shoes; and, for comparison purposes, I am still waiting for an offer above a few hundred for NewSkis{.com}.
Just a few more people play golf than ski. Just a few....People buy golf shoes every few years. Some people buy 2-3 pair a year. Skiing is seasonal and golf is not. Golf is televised has profesional athletes is marketed- skiing is/does not. Most people don't buy skis ever in their lifetime - they rent. I always buy my shoes online. Of course I shop for shoes in the mall to try on sizes. Then I go online and get a better price to order. Your domain isn't as valuable ... My point wasn't that it was worth tens of thousands of dollars - just that to suggest its a "drop" or "reg" fee only is ridiculous.... I really question if people look at similar domain names sales when pricing. DiscountGolfShoes.com sold for 10k in 2004 DNsaleshistory.com
NeverGraduated.com has potential value as a site to help people who never graduated from high school get their GED. Lots of advertisers on Google for GED search
That's your job; not ours. I don't recall being paid to appraise your domain. You get other people's opinion -- right or wrong -- for free. So why look a gift horse in the mouth? And if you're so confident in your own valuation, why ask others for an appraisal? "Skis"........................823,000 per month "Golf Shoes"...............368,000 per month "Discount Golf Shoes"......4,400 per month "Buy Skis" .....................3,600 per month "New Skis" ....................1,300 per month "New Golf Shoes" ............1,300 per month "Buy Golf Shoes" ...............720 per month [Discount Golf Shoes] .........3,600 per month [Buy Skis] ............................880 per month [Buy Golf Shoes] ...................170 per month [New Skis]............................210 per month [New Golf Shoes]...................140 per month There are 2-3 times as many people searching for "skis" as there are for "golf shoes". There are 5 times as many people searching for "buy skis" as there are for "buy golf shoes". Even the numbers for "New Skis" versus "New Golf Shoes" are basically equal, with a slight lead going to [New Skis] over [New Golf Shoes]. I think these numbers refute your claims pretty conclusively. When it comes to DiscountGolfShoes{.com}, look at the ratio in the search volumes between that phrase and your domain: There are 6 times as many searches per month for "Discount Golf Shoes" compared to "New Golf Shoes". And there are 26 times as many searches when you compare [Discount Golf Shoes] to [New Golf Shoes]. Using these figures, it would be safer to assume the high end price is 1/6 or 1/26 of their $10,000 amount. (I didn't check that sale price, but I'm assuming it's correct.) That would put your high end price somewhere between $385 to $1667. But there are other factors involved too. A store can call itself "Discount Golf Shoes". But could a store name itself "New Golf Shoes"? Yes, a website could use the domain. But "New Golf Shoes" doesn't sound like a brand the same way that "Discount Golf Shoes" does. Moreover, the word "discount" strongly indicates that somebody is ready to purchase because they're already considering price. That makes the CPC and the value of search traffic much higher. I admit there is more interest in golf shoes than I would have imagined. If you were one of my PAYING CLIENTS, then you could complain. Meanwhile, try not to complain so much about the appraisals that other people give you for free. When people don't see value in your domain, it's nothing personal. You can disagree, but what justification do you have to complain?
<---- NOW THAT IS A F****** APPRAISAL - Thank you for putting some thought into it! Seriously. My frustration doesn't have anything to do with you. I do appreciate other peoples opinions as long as they are reasonable and make some type of sense. Being appraised with "reg fee" and "let them drop" by more than one appraiser here was dissapointing. Its so off base its ridiculous. Its not that I think I am sitting on a goldmine but certainly more than reg fee...Didn't mean to start up with you, but if you were to have newskis.com appraised and I told you "reg fee" let it drop you would probably think it was dumb too...
Well, free appraisals in the forums are an imperfect system by nature. Even successful domainers will disagree on valuations, and the forums have a mixed audience with varying degrees of knowledge. People tend to be rushed and multitasking; so if they review somebody else's domains, they will tend to scan through very quickly. Sometimes a domain's value will be missed or exaggerated that way. Realistically, the person who will be most thorough in appraising a domain will be its owner. Other than that, you basically have to find someone whom you trust -- and possibly bribe them to take a similar degree of interest in your property. It's just human nature. Best wishes.
