You need to start writing good quality posts with external links that can work as a back-link to your site. Use Google analytics to see what the top-ranking keywords are (what people are searching for the most on Google) and add those keywords to your site, include them in your posts, etc. Consult some SEO companies that can write reviews, articles or anything related to your site. (you can also do this yourself by the way) Good luck!
1. Create backlinks via commenting, forums etc 2. Work on SEO 3. Social media 4. Use pinterest and flickr for traffic if you use images
If you have a budget for advertising then go with Some paid campaigns with Google Adwords, Adbrite Exchange etc. If you don't have budget, you only have one option i.e. Search engine optimization (Which is considered by 99.9% of the websites in the internet).
A good way to get traffic to your site is by getting other sites to link to your site from their site. You can also try pay-per-click campaigns. Both of these things together should increase traffic to your site, as it will put your site higher on search results in search engines.
I have found that the big boys use paid traffic and outsource everything else! Article marketing is a great way to build backlinks to your site, but unless you outsource it, it can be time consuming...
Yeah.. it's hard enough to keep on writing unique and quality articles that I barely have the time to do everything else
There is a couple different ways you can market your website. It just depends on how much work you want to put into it. Here is a decent post on a couple ways to actually market properly: https://moneyandeconassist.wordpress.com/ It has a few different ideas. You can also find a bunch others if u google a bit.
Is it a website or blog you're promoting? Social media is huge and for blogs, particularly Pinterest! I have great results with Pinterest. Definitely build your own email list and build trust. Join Facebook groups in your related niche and begin networking with others. Don't spam, follow all the rules, but interact and engage. Many FB group owners will set a certain day of the week where you can post your link to your site. The benefit here is the visitors from these groups that come to your site may not only be interested in what you're promoting, but they can help build your credibility through testimonials, blog comments and other types of engagement.
