Hello, I talked to a guy who is willing to sell his Ebay account. It's a fairly good account with a limit of 160 limits per month. Basically, I need it because Ebay slapped me with a 100 limit a couple of weeks ago, and I am far from realizing my full selling potential. Anyways, what I am wondering now is how this sort of sales are usually made. Shall I ask for nickname and password first or I have to pay first? What's the best way so that the interests of the two of us are protected? Also, please let me know what I shall do in order to avoid ban from Ebay. Are they likely to ban me if they notice I log in from a different IP? What can I do to avoid this? Thank you for your help in advance!
You can discuss buying the account here but the actual purchase needs to be made elsewhere. I would imagine ebay would handle the change in location just like google and facebook do - and ask you some extra security questions. People need to be able to move house! and if you are paying with money you can't afford to waste - use escrow
As far as I know, eBay prohibits the sale of eBay accounts and will ban users it finds doing so. It's really not that hard to catch someone doing it either - you're likely to update the name, address, phone number, etc. on file to your own once you purchase the account. Such a change in user information - along with the change in location - may be automatically get detected by eBay. Anyway, if you do purchase the account, be sure to update the account recovery questions and what not to prevent the previous owner from gaining access. There is also the chance that he contacts customer support and claims his account was hacked - and thus get his account back. You'll have to be willing to take those risks if you don't trust him.
I was wondering this myself if you could buy eBay accounts, but your first paragraph makes perfect sense and I would bet everything I own that what you said is true, then the account being automatically closed and under review.
