It is one of many factors Google consider when ranking websites in SERP. All of those factors are important.
I thing page rank is still importance, but i think people should concentrate on making great pages ans people will link to them and in turn give a better page rank. Read Google web master guideline and try to implement their suggestions and this will hopefully help you.
yes google page rank is still very important not for the business purpose but it shows the reputation of the website.
Hello. Yes. But isn't more important as in 2003. Google have more then 200 criteria which use to determinate how good is your sites.
According to my think Google page rank important to selling something on your site like links etc but Serp's is much better than page rank.
lmao! Well, your "Conventional knowledge" is wrong... It is only important if you are a link seller....
How can any of you seriously consider PageRank as important?! GSMArena.com is only PR2 (previously 3 before Penguin), but very popular. Nothing to do with it's PageRank, but the fact it has a good community on its main site and blog. Can't forget Facebook either. Open your eyes about what's important for a site.
Google PR is still very important. A lot of people here on DP would always argue that it's useless but take it this way, do a search on any 1 keyword and visit all the 1st 10 results. All must have good PR. So yes PR helps a lot in SERPS. Thats why millions of websites place links. And thats why the buy, sell ads forum here is growing faster than it used to be.
Agreed @ ggseo -- I've seen PR7 sites that have terrible relavence for what I need and i've stumbled upon sites with a pr of 1 and give me more.
It depends on what is your target. Most of the time, good PR does not mean that it will give you a good amount of visitors. PR could be treated as reputation of site.
Page rank is important in a sense that it gets you more new visitors everyday, resulting in higher traffic. Sites with PR7 and above are quality sites where we get a lot of information. Not sure a site can get that high with mediocre content.
