Have a proper diet so your body has all the fuel it needs to not feel lethargic. Combine that with an active posture (try kneeler chair) and good lighting (try full spectrum daylight lamps) and you will feel better guaranteed.

Don't be tempted with coffee and red bull etc. it only causes a massive sugar or caffeine spike which takes a lot of energy to actually stabilize so in the end you'll only feel worse because of it. Short term perceived gain vs mid/long term aggrevation of your initial problem. Slow release energy like cereals are better, it avoids the highs and lows.

LOL, I only just got back after a week you nasty man!

Anyway, you lot go kill yourself with Rob's suggestions - remember he gets electric shocks every 60 seconds and spews up after drinking one beer ;)

My colleague is a nutritional therapist and I've studied many of these topics myself - also sell products to this effect so I happen to know a thing or two on this matter

Just look at his avatar - I rest my case.

Coffee. Sugar will only help for a short time. After that it will put you to sleep.

About the best way to stay awake is to fall asleep and force yourself to dream your awake and working. That way, if your boss doesn't notice your asleep you'll be none the wiser yourself lol:)

I tend to agree. Take a quick walk, get out of the office at break or lunch. Make sure you get water/coffee/OJ (drink of your choice) just to refresh and to take a break from the computer. Change of scenery often does the trick. And don't put the heat up too much if you can control that at all :)

Caffeine doesn't work for me anymore, b/c the crash afterwards is always worse, and comes too quickly now. :( But a multivitamin and plenty of water will do the trick surprisingly well. :)

He did give that up, after deciding it got in the way of his social life too much. I don't think that's a good short-term solution.

It's natural to feel tired after a long session in front of the computer. Partly this is because you're sitting down, so getting up and going for a walk should be enough to revive you. If you don't move around enough, you'll feel sluggish and won't be able to concentrate.

I also find it nearly impossible to concentrate and stay awake if it's too hot, and you may well be dressed for outside but sat in a superheated office. Try stripping off. If that doesn't keep you up, maybe it will help your co-workers stay alert instead.

I can not agree more, I think you had better take a good sleep at night, and you will be working effectively the next day.

What's more, the coffee or Redbull can only make you refresh for just a while, as they increase the suger in your blood sharply, why not turn to juice, they are more healthy, make the rise slowly but steady.

Luckily yesterday my boss left the office and took a nap. Feeling well after that.

Hopefully today my boss will go somewhere else again later today.:D:D
