I need a logo designed for a news article website. It needs to be brandable. Preferably vector format (scalable), I will need to see a full color, black and white and grayscale versions. This is a guaranteed contest for $125, winner will be paid and must deliver all source files. The logo may NOT be used in a portfolio site. Any logo designed in this contest may not be used in your portfolio. Also, please DO NOT use copyrighted images in your designs. That will immediately disqualify your design. Website Name: The E Address (theeaddress.com) Slogan: Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace Type of site: This will be an entertainment news article blog. Preferred Colors: Pinks, Greens, Purples. Something along those lines. Don't have to use all of them, but preferably use at least one or two. The writer is a lady and she likes those colors. I reserve the right to pick a winner before July 22nd, and also reserve the right to extend this contest for up to 48 hours. Lets get designing guys, I'd like to see something really good, and the sooner the better. If someone blows me away, there will be a bonus and extra work for that person later on. Best Regards, Nick
I love how the internet world never sleeps. Great to have some entries already. Here is my feedback, though I'm not the one picking the logo so in the end it will all come down to the client's choosing. I personally don't like it. I think it's wayy too simple. I don't think that is a logo that could be branded. I think that's something you'd stick on one of those 20 dollar made for adsense sites to make your site look a bit more personal. Still, I'll give you feedback once I get word from the client, you never know. This definitely has potential. I looked at it and immediately liked it. Can't wait to hear what the client has to say about it. If you can, would you mind making a pink and a purple version (change the color of the E and the slogan to pink and purple. That way the client has her color requirements fully met). Guys, so you are aware, I will be showing logo designs to the client every two days. Meaning July 18th, July 20th and July 22nd (Final designs) all at 6pm Eastern Standard Time. This means that if you want the client to see your work by a certain period of time, please submit your design by 5:45pm Eastern Standard Time on one of those dates. Like I said, once a client is happy with a logo, the contest can end. Good luck to everyone.
I think I like your original submission better. Hang tight till tomorrow when I send both to the client so I can give you some proper feedback.
You forgot the word "Speak" and I think it's a little simple. My favorite so far, though the E is a bit hard to understand. The color scheme is great. Please look at my next post and maybe you can incorporate the color scheme into what the client wants. A little too simple IMO. To me it looks like a ripoff of kainraziall's design. Same thing as above, only it looks like a rip off of kainraziall and MrRooT.
I went ahead and asked the client for a bit more feedback as to how they wanted their logo to be. I got this: Please see the attached files. I'm looking forward to see something good from you guys. I know there isn't much room left for creativity now, but I'm sure you guys can come up with something very nice. Edit: Btw, you guys can basically have your own idea where to put the slogan. From my understanding of what the client wants is that they want the E to be like the @ symbol, so here is your chance to get creative with everything else. Slogan at the bottom is a must I guess, but play with it, make it look good. Remember, this should be brandable. If you ever see a commercial on TV of their business and you see their logo, you want to be proud that you did it. (Just an example, I don't think it could get that far. But it could be in the news )
I will post feedback in a little bit, but I wanted to add that the clients do not want Pink and Green to be used together in the logo. And I quote:
It's great to see so many entries get put up. Remember guys, I'll be emailing the designs in about 3 hours, so get me your entries by then. I think it's pointless to give you guys my feedback considering I'll be able to give you the clients feedback in just a little bit. So hang tight everyone. Best Regards, Nick
