Where should I visit for a US holiday?

So do any surfers know WTF there is to do in Virginia around Christmas time? Surely there's gotta be some sites to see... like "this is where we kicked British ass" and "this is a beautiful piece of country - and down there we beat off the British army" and all that stuff of the sort
