Preventing click bombing and invalid clicks?

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by retsolutions, Jul 17, 2012.

I recently got an email from google warning of possible invalid activity on my account. After searching thru this forum and others about what to do I found this online software Adsense Defender.

Has anybody tried it? And more importantly is it okay to use with Google adsense? I don't want to violate their TOS by using it, but for $37 if it works I certainly would do it. I have no affiliation with this company, just looking for feedback. Thanks.

    You don't need any software.

You should monitor the clicks your getting and report it to them when you see something strange. I wouldn't use software for that that isn't provided by Google itself.

Adsense only gives me the number of clicks and on which Ads. So some days I may get 30 other days 70. How will I know if it's the same IP or if something strange is happening? How will I know if the days I get 70 something is not right, maybe I just had better, new, or more interesting ads served that day. What do I use to monitor this? Adsense does not give you the IP that is clicking your ads. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should simply not think about it. It's the easiest, safest way.
But perhaps you want to waste your time so you'll search for things to do about a non-existing problem.

Anybody else have any ideas on how to monitor your clicks when Adsense does not provide any IP info?

What would you do if you knew anything, anyway?
You're not in charge here, this problem is only for adsense to deal with, so why waste your time monitoring some abstract stuff for no reason at all?
Otherwise, yes probably you can get tools to track clicks, I only use google analytics linked to adsense, nothing else and I'm fine, I don't have to waste one second thinking about the nature of clicks, it's adsense's job.

If it's not you click bombing yourself or clicking your own ads, then Google won't say much to you about it.

I never used adsense defender myself but I have heard good things about it.
But you SHOULD report to google and provide them with any evidences you might have.

That is what I am asking, everyone says to report and provide evidence that I have, but how do I go about getting this evidence to report. Only info I have is what adsense says my number of clicks are each day. However I got an email from adsense saying I have invalid activity. What do I do? Obviously I have not clicked my own ads.

I would recommend to find a script that only allows a click per 24 hours from one IP. This can greatly help decrease invalid clicks on your site.

This is crazy paranoia.. As if one visitor couldn't click several times and still be valid clicks!
If you do that it means you waste your time instead of increasing ad impressions to earn more. :)

I have a cable internet provider so a static IP, no one should be able to click ads with my IP.
