    Hi Guys,

What's your appraisal of this DN.

First registered by me back in March 1998.

I like the fact I can use the email address fin@nce.co.uk Does this give it any enhanced value?

In fact before IE6 you could enter www.fin@nce.co.uk into the brower address bar and it would resolve to nce.co.uk (little known fact)

This looke great, but as I say stopped somewhere in one of the IE6 versions :-(

Anyway, any appraisals would be appreciated.

    Cheers,

    T-bone

certainly not worth what you are after on ebay for it, for a decent appraisal of a .co.uk domain head over to acorndomains.co.uk

How did you know I was selling it on eBay?

You ARE on the ball !!!

Maybe you're right. I turned down £5,000 for this back in '99 I think it was for the website for the magazine New Civil Engineer. Haven't stopped kicking myself.

Have had a steady steam of enquiries in the past 6 months, can't see why?

Thanks for the link to acorndomains I'll have a look there now.

    Cheers,

    T-bone

    I wish

My domain is NCE.co.uk not NEC. Unless people are interested because of the potential of mis-spells ???

Thanks Fisher, I've just joined the acorndomains forum and have got a bid already :) Not sure if that's coincidence, this guy might just have come from ebay, but I'm still impressed.

When you said 'not worth what I want for it on ebay' did you mean the starting bid or the buy it now?

Just re-read my last response and realised it sounds a bit harsh.

I meant the buy it now price although, i'd have probably started it at £450-£500 as you will get that for it. I reckon you will get at least £750 if the right person comes along. Acorn is defo the place to sell .co.uk or at least gain interest in your ebay sale as a few folk on there will happily buy that domain.

I know now I was crazy to turn down the £5k, but it was their first bid and I thought they'd pay more. Plus it was boom time then & you kind of think, someone else will come along with the same sort of money.

Not forgetting of course... I was obviously STUPID :)

I think both you guys are most likely right. Current bid on ebay.co.uk is £950 and it closes today so time will tell.

Will report sale price when closes, just out of interest.
