Do you think web directory really bring traffic to your website/blog?

I have been doing web directory submission for so long for different websites. But its very sad to see from my Google Analytics report that none of these directory sites bring that much traffic to my websites as expected. So, does web directory submission has value like earlier days?

Are you submitting to general or niche directories? Niche directories, for the most part, are more likely to send direct traffic to the sites they list.

 

I've submitted my site to many web directories but I don't get that much traffic from them.

 

I believe it still has, especially if you posted your site on good directory site as well as putting it on the right categories.

 

You should not rely completely on directory submissions, focus on other aspects like article submissions, social bookmarking, social networking, blogging. Directory submission is the easiest way to build back links, submit in niche directories to reap more benefit.
