HI I have used http://www.easywebtutorials.com/blogging-tutorial/wordpress-themes.php on this blog - Devon Magazine Its a 3 column template that makes for easy adsense intergration. Having said that adsense is easy to put in any blog to be honest. this blog Fishing puts the adsense into the content area of the page and this is just the default template. A very clean template in my opinion. Any help to you??
May be "I would like" would be a better way of putting it!! I guess they got a tamplate and hacked it to suite thier needs, linke most people have to. My ideas not good enough then!!
Take a look at the Activate theme in my signature. Has AdSense section for the blog. PM me if you have questions about the theme - I wrote it myself.
Best theme is one that is the easiest to modify into something you like. Having said that, quite a few of the minimalistic ones from http://themes.wordpress.net/ are really great.
