Any Authentic tool to check inner page rank and backlinks ?

    I have tried a few online tools and unfortunately most of them showed varied results for same websites. I would like to know if there is any tool, which is deemed as authentic for this purpose (like we have copyscape for plagiarism, although its not fool proof but is deemed authentic).

    Yes, best tool is the Google tool bar and while hovering you mouse at that tool bar you will check the page rank of any page but while clicking at the page rank checker in the tool bar , you will see 3 options out there:

    1) to check the last date of page cached date
    2) similar pages
    3) backward links

    Thanks for your response. I would like to know which google toolbar are you referring to? Is this an add on or what ? Pls share the download link, ( in case there is any) or let me know where exactly we can locate it (and install it, if required)
