Importance of Alexa Rank

Hello,

I would like to know importance of alexa rank in seo. Sometimes i have seen that site with pr4+ have dont have good alexa rank and also seen that NA.

Need your suggestion

The problem with Alexa ranking is that it's EXTREMELY unreliable unless you have a really high Alexa rank .. this is because the data comes from users who have the Alexa toolbar.

You'll find in particular niches web users will be less likely to use the tool bar, and in other niches web users will be more likely to use the toolbar.

In terms of SEO, I'd think you'd only really see a noticeable benefit if you got really high on to the topsites page .. and even then if you got that high then your site would be doing so well that it wouldn't be as much of a difference at the time.

Some people use Alexa ranking as another selling point when they're flipping domains, but personally I don't think it holds much weight as it can be manipulated unfortunately so if I was buying a domain I really wouldn't take it into consideration.

 

It's not a significant factor. A lot of off-site SEO mimics the look of a site going viral but the way Alexa updates your Alexa rank may not go down as fast as your site rises in the SERPs. It wouldn't make sense for Google to hold a bad Alexa rank against an otherwise good site.

As sonicadam said, Alexa rank can help in other areas of IM, like site flipping and selling ad space.

 

Alexa rank is only important while selling a website. People usually give importance to Alexa rank but this is not a reliable data. I don't give much focus and attention to Alexa rank. For me, relevant traffic from search engines matter and conversion rate is even more important.

Alexa Rank is directly proportional to traffic entering a site.The more traffic enter a site with Alexa tool bar installed the better the Alexa Rank.So, the chance of getting traffic with the tool bar installed there must be high flow of traffic.Not too important unless you sell back links professionally.It eventually decreases as site gets traffic.

 

Alexa is great for traffic flow but not much recommended ... Alex also can help you get better PR score the more traffic the better the PR+

 

Alexa isn't something you should pay a lot of attention. Better work on your SERP, Alexa gives you information about your traffic, but the bad thing is that NOT each visitor "decrease" the Alexa ranking, but ONLY visitors that have installed Alexa Toolbar...

Alexa ranks doesnt meant that your site has good content or good popularity. Alexa rank has no concern with google both have different algorithm. They work on different algorithms so there is no connection of Alexa rank and PR. So if you are aiming for the site just remind of Google PR.
