Weird question, right? But yeah i really want to know who reads news on digg, stumble upon or Reddit? I mean we already have some awesome social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin to spend our leisure time then why someone would spend time on digg or stumble upon. Can someone throw me some light as if who are the actual users of such websites and how in real such websites are useful?
I use them for finding good content to share on my facebook pages and also for article ideas. And Internet marketing is all about sharing information and content. Sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are about socializing and sharing the info that you find on the Digg, Reddit and other article and/or bookmarking sites. You wouldn't write an article or news release on Facebook, but one that you found or published elsewhere, you'd share it on facebook. To make a really great fanpage or blog that people frequent often you need quality content (content is king so they say)...That's where you find content. Google really loves these sites so it's a good alternative/addition to posting your articles only to article directories. Submit them also to the high ranking bookmarking sites for additional listing in Google.
I don't read it all. I hardly know anything about this network. I do often see it in social bookmarks but rarely see people actually sharing it on it. It's definitely not one of the most popular.
yes....social bookmarking site is used by marketer and they digg othe ruser's post with intention that they will also digg his post...this is the all game..i think....just like twitter follower....
I normally use these sites to read about the new articles, these sites get updated way before facebook, twitter and all... as most of the people read articles and latest news on these sites and then share it across other social networking sites.
I dont read anything on there I do use it to stumble my own websites social signals is the way of the future if you want to rank your website on google
stumble upon is awesome. the users really moderate it fairly well so cool and interesting sites related to your interest shows up. I love it. I can lose hours on stumble upon.
Not me, lol. I don't read either but I do submit to both! I get pretty decent traffic from StumbleUpon so there must be allot of users out there who like it
I threw together a Wordpress blog almost a week ago, added 2 posts and put them on stumbleupon. Now I'm looking at my google analytics... 3 users the first day, then 2, then 1, 1, 0, but today so far I have 7813 page views from 4380 unique visitors... I currently have 45 people on the site right now according to google analytics real time thing. All the traffic is StumbleUpon referrals. Somebody out there is using it
Your so right buddy! Most of us go over to Digg and similar sites to add our link and then come home. I have never read anything on those sites apart from submitting my link there. Most people are more active on Facebook. Hey Neil, that is great work man. So it proves that Digg and Stumbleupon are great for submitting our blogs. Thanks for the share.
Mostly people who are not marketers. I use stumbleupon occasionally to kill time, but not for seriously finding articles to read.
I agree. I ONLY use Digg for backlinking. It used to be excellent for getting a first page ranking on Google but that was years ago. That and Squidoo used to work wonders.
