Is it possible to make a simple site with 20/30 articles (unique) say about soccer, then go to wikipedia and add external links under soccer, football , sport etc.. and drive some traffic and get a high pagerank ?
man if this was possible then all the FMA sites would also have been included. It surely requires too much attention to get listed in wiki. It will get delisted and a notice will be pasted. "Not Notable Site"
Getting external links from wikipedia is difficult BUT definitely possible. Here's how: 1) Make sure your site is NOT an MFA site 2) Make sure your site is NOT commercial in nature (selling products) 3) If your site has some advertising make sure that it is less than 5% of your content 3) Make sure you don't add your own sites to the external links 4) Make sure your content is well organized and unique with value to visitors 5) Make sure your text anchor is short but as accurate as possible .... .... .... .... 6) Go narrow, not broad. Focus on and write about micro elements in your niche, many times you will need to start your own page/subpage on it and become the resident expert/editor. ie: Don't write about Ford engines, write specifically about the "do-a-ma-hicky" found in the internal fuel injection components on the 2006 Ford Mustang. Hope this helps! Frank
Gaining links on wikipedia is possible. You need to make sure that you place relevent content that adds to the wikipedia. There isn't any reason for them to a remove a link if what you add is actually relevent. Of course its generally easier to find a niche that needs more info, many non-niche sections can use a lot of filling out. After all with some research can't you write a complete book on almost anything?
I have a few external links. Often times they will reject your edit because there is already enough links there. If there isn't too many links, and your articles/page is helpful, you can get it in.
Wikipedia is probably a really great place to have link. I would imagine a lot of their pages have a ton of Google juice.
Wikipedia links are great. Anotehr strategy is to build a lot of credibility (having lots of edits, being known by the community). Newbies posting are viewed with much more suspicion.
