Rankings drop off?

Hi,

My website has slowly dropped from Google P1 to P5 over these last few weeks, can anyone give me any reasons that might be affecting it's current position, thank you!?

your website got penalized by google..because of the following reasons

1. Duplicate Pages - www.abc.com and www.abc.com/index.shtml
2. Keyword Density - Titanic - 62.17%.., which is Too High in view of google
3. Backlinks having same anchor text titanic-titanic

Suggestions:
Redirect index.shtml to www.abc.com or vice versa
After Google updates, keyword density should not more than 4%
Remove / Delete unwanted and spammy links which are linked to your domain.

I think you got penalized becoz of the recent penguin updates by google. It's a check on web spam. If you are following any practice likewise then try to eradicate it quickly. Follow the recent google updates provided by Matt Cutt.

 

Nothing untoward to report luckily, but I've not been in here for years, so I'm not too sure all of the updates, and their effects.

 

I am totally agree with you.. Keyword Density is really important factor...

 

I've now removed some of words, which tool did you check it with?

This issue is referred as "canonical issue", For more info on this, have look : www.mattcutts.com/blog/seo-advice-url-canonicalization/

all the above pages are pointing to same domain.., but google treats its has a Duplicate pages towards your site.., you can redirect all the above pages to any one of the page.., OR else you can have rel="canonical" tag to tell google that all the above pages belongs to single site..,

So if I put the following code in the head of the page I wish Google to treat as the main page, and to eradicate the possibility of dupe content?

 

one major cause may be is that penguin update by Google...

Yep, it is true..,that is one factor.. and your home page is stuffed with the keyword "titanic" so eradicate that one also, and the backlinks have more than 60-70% with single anchor text titanic-titanic.., try edit them with some other titles.

remove junk, spammy links, and also edit visit here, read more, home, links with proper keywords..,

you may see good results ahead..,
