There is absolutely NO set number for keywords. Just write good copy that illustrates what you are wanting to say. The right keywords should appear in that copy naturally, without you having to use some man-made formula. Feel free to use some synonyms and related words for your main topics — for example, not just "dogs", but also "canine", "pets", "man's best friend", and things like that.

Read your copy out loud to yourself. If it sounds good, you are on the right track.

Although Google doesnt read them at all. Keyword meta tag should contain between 5 to 10 keyword or keyword phrases that are also found in page content.

There's no such a thing I believe. Some say this and that keyword density is needed in order for a page to do well in the engines. However this feels like an old approach which doesn't really work anymore. Google will know what your page is about if you structure the rest right, like h1, h2, title. Focus on creating some good shit instead of mentioning the same word/phrase over and over again.

I agree completely with Jim! DO NOT write you articles with SEO keywords in mind, write them for the end user! This is possibly the most corrupt part of SEO on the web.

Instead of focusing your efforts on the amount of times you use your primary keyword in your content, try writing your content for the end-user. You will be surprised how many links/shares you will get if your content goes viral. Creating viral content is by far the number one way to rank your website as an authority in any industry!

Just follow the rules on placing meta headers .. the number of characters including spaces. And then, put a unique content in your pages at least 3-4 keywords on it.

As search engines become intelligent, you need to stop worrying about keyword density. Just make sure that your target keyword is in the title, description and URL. It should be on the page as well in H1, H2, content, but do NOT try to stuff the keyword. Write high-quality articles ONLY for the end-users or readers. If your content is good and relevant, Google/Bing should be able to identify its importance and rank it accordingly.

There's really no set amount of keywords that has to be set in a web page to be ranked. In fact, nowadays Google and many other search engine don't really rank your website on how many keywords you have. They rank on the content you have and the quality backlinks you have.

There is not set amount. but typically I keep my keyword density under 3%. and I usually don't have it more than 2 or 3 places on the site.

Keyword is very important for a web page because search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme, and to determine which terms the site is relevant to. The perfect keyword will help achieve higher search engine positions. Keyword needs to be balanced correctly. The keyword is entered into the search engine algorithm as a mathematical calculation, to determine relevance of the many billions of Internet pages to that particular search.
