just noticed something and would like to know if anyone knows what is supposed to come up when you go to 'optimizations/content keyword' in google webmaster tools. isn't this supposed to be the keyword density you have on your site?? the reason i ask is that before 'penguin' our site was ranked #1 for 'mustangs for sale' and 'mustang for sale' - but after penguin, we were destroyed for those 2 keywords.. and before penguin, 2 prominent content keywords that showed up in GWT were 'for' and 'sale'.. now they are nowhere to be found in the top 100 content keywords - even though they DO show up on the site's home page. can anyone explain that for me please?
mustangs for sale and mustangs for sale - may these two keywords were almost equal in Search Engine point of view while updating penguin, so for those keywords it might be punished your website... this is my opinion any more insights from anyone would be great.. thanks
but that doesn't make sense why they would punish our site for both keywords.. since that is what our site is all about - mustangs for sale..
It can be happened for over optimization. I think you have used anchor text as username in blog posting. I have found my client who own skin products related website having this tendency. He just want blog posting and from PR2+ or PR3 websites. He doesn't want to follow any other SEO techniques... May be you have walked in the same way.
Yeah... It's seems Over Optimization of Keywords. In this case It's acceptable to punish your keywords.
that's a tough one.. do i count all pages or just websites?? using open site explorer, just counting websites, it's about 11.5%.. counting pages it's about 13%
can you please explain more in detail??? as most of the stuff on the website comes from users ads that they place..
