Are you dreading Thursday?

Its Thanksgiving. I expect people traffic and earnings to take a hammering. There are far too many holidays in America? Is it still a normal business day or are people off from work on this day?

    Nope, I like turkey :D

But, I don't have any huge adsense earnings coming in to lose. How do holidays effect earnings - does it go down substantially, or can it go up with more people off of work hitting the internet?

I have never thought about holidays dropping adsense earnings.
Are you earning so much, it would make a hole in your wallet?

No, I am not earning that much but the traffic on hildays appear to be like weekend traffic. A lot fewer people seem to use the internet on these days. Anyway, perhaps, some types of sites might actually get more traffic.

I would have thought it would increase. Less people at work, more people bored at home.

My adsense is very seasonal - holidays in the UK

In the late spring the earnings fly through the roof, they stay steady until September they then plummit to almost nothing.

At the moment I am creating a few sites to pay in WINTER

    Hum!!

This was my line of thinking, too. I think I am on the computer more when I am off word for a holiday. The exception might be Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve/Christmas. Those are generally busy days - cooking and traveling, visiting family - and of course Eating!! :D

Maybe. However, I think some types of sites get substantially less traffic on weekends and holidays, especially sites that cater to working people.

Ah yes, I didn't think of it like that.
I find traffic on weekends is somewhat depressing.

On Thanksgiving day (Thursday), it's time for getting together with extended family to eat way too much food followed by watching football on TV for the rest of the day. The next day is the biggest shopping day of the year. It's nicknamed "Black Friday" presumably because it's the day that retail stores that have been running in the "red" all year have their income go into the "black" from the hoardes of shoppers.

Generally, you wouldn't expect to find huge numbers of people in front of their computers on those 2 days but I'd love to be proven wrong :).

I suppose it depends on what kind of site you have. I would not expect business sites to get as much traffic on Thanksgiving. I suggest giving yourself a break by not worrying about Thurday's adsense revenues.

Never. Holidays rule. Are you dreading Christmas too, Mr. Scrooge? Family takes precedence over money any day of the year.
