I can not figure out how commenting on blogs can increase traffic? How do you link it to your site?

Your backlinks get indexed by search engines from your blog comments, you leave a link to your website, and you will also receive a few clicks when/if users see your comments.

It depends on the quality of your comments and where you post them.

if you post comment on a high traffic blog, people reading the blog may see your link and click to visit your site if your comment is that attractive. or, you post blog comments which give you backlinks which in turn helps you rank your site high. well, atleast thats the way it used to. now a days after penguin update, automated blog commenting is considered as spam therefore should never be done. manual blog commenting on quality blogs should be ok.

It gives you exposure to your target market! If you are a top poster on a high ranking busy blog in your niche with a nice clear link you will have people click and go there. Pretty simple really and it works great!!

Don't go buying Scrapebox or some other blog commenting software and think because you blast out 10 or 20k blog comments you will get a bunch of traffic from them..it doesn't work like that. The blog comments will help you build backlinks which will in turn help your SEO rankings. If you continue with it long enough and eventually get thousands of blog comments out there you could see some traffic..If the comments are decent and the blogs they get posted on have some traffic..But I never really expect huge traffic from blog commenting, just the backlinks from it!

if your comment on other's blog is useful and quality, people will click on your link to know more about yourself. Therefore your blog traffic will increase gradually.

Commenting on blogs will not increase your traffic by much if any at all. If you are really wanting to increase traffic naturally use social bookmarking and social media. Make a Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and a Google+ for your website! Post your internal links of your website to social media networking like Reddit, Stumbleupon etc.. Then you can start seeing some traffic generated that way as well! I wish you luck!

    Thanks

If you comment on relevant popular blogs then you can have people who are reading the blogs click through to the link on your own website.

Also it can help to boost your serp rankings in the search engines.

Try to comment on your niche related blogs. Also make your comments interesting. When some blog use comment luv then you can give link to last post on yours blog and it can increase your traffic. So it's all about links.

To get the SEO benefit, your link needs to be dofollow. The easiest way to find dofollow blogs is to use the following search string:

    intitle:"keyword" “commentluv”

Blogs using the CommentLuv plug-in are almost always dofollow, and if you use Firefox there is an extension you can use to check this. The SEOQuake extension gives you the option of showing nofollow links with a strike-through.

I saw a WSO that had a search feature that made it easier and less time consuming to find other blogs that are on the same subjects. Comments get your links back and build your reputation. Cooking blogs benefit from comments as well as craft blogs... I don't know about other blogs because I mostly blog on women topics. It's all about build rep and getting backlinks and a reader ship all at the same time.

Do you know if that WSO is still open? I'd like to take a peek...

To the Op, Blog commenting does work for traffic but you do have to say something of value, or your post will be ignored.

It should be -- I don't remember the name completely. But it starts with Link . It's fun earlier this month so start at the older pages and go from there. You should be able to find it after some time. There are tons of other ones as well. This one is more so a membership area rather then a software program. I didn't buy it --- thus I don't remember the name -- sorry hun!

It can give direct traffic through clickthroughs, but is more effective from an SEO standpoint. Just be sure to build your backlinks slowly and naturally. :)

When you give constructive comments, people may click on your keywords or backlinks you provided to check out who you are and ultimately you get traffics from there.

After leaving a comment with your website, you are actually building backlinks but in my opinion, i think this helps a little and it would be better if you are doing on other ways as well. Blog commenting is just an additional thing which you really think that the post is really good and you wanted to give your opinion. Don't ever comment for the sake of commenting, I don't think that will make other readers and blogger getting interested in your comments.

In summary, there are two channels that blog commenting can drive traffic to your sites.

The direct part of traffic is came from people clicking the backlinks directly you included in your blog commenting. This covers a very small part of the traffic. If you want others to click your links, your comment content should be informative, useful and related to the topic of the post. Otherwise, it would seem like spamming.

And the indirect part of traffic is from search engine. Building quality backlinks through blog commenting would help with our SERPS.
