Hey everyone. As I've recently gotten rid of my cell phone, I'm considering getting skypein. That way I'll have it at work, home, on my mac, pc, and pocket pc when I'm in a hotspot Has anyone used this service? If so, what is your experience?
I have only used SkypeOut which I assume has the same QoS as SkypeIn. I have been tempted buy ended up going for Vonage a few months back. If I had a business that required phone support I would probably use SkypeIn with several numbers across the globe for clients to call in to.
Yep I use it, though my phone is voicemailed most of the time. But it's good. I have a UK number and a US number. Just for reachability issues. So far it has been good. And I think, I'll continue with it as long as I can The Number redirect does cost me, but so far I feel it's reasonable!
ahh no im not using skypein, but i would love to give a go at it soon, highly trusted network m just using normal skype services
Absolutely. I am in Australia and I speak to other members here from Canada and Spain and the quality is so clear it's as if they were hear in the room. Apparently, Google Talk is better than Skype in quality. But have not used it yet for voice, only chat. I was told this a few weeks ago. Col
Relying on hotspots is annoying; you'll still need a real cell if you have to be in contact while traveling. Otherwise, yea, I use SkypeIn and it works well. I've received calls with it while on WiFi with the PDA. I like being able to choose the locality of the incoming # but they still don't have any Vancouver area codes.
Hey man! Haven't seen you around for a while! I'm thinking I might just go with a cheap cell phone, and then maybe get Skypeout for conference calls that can't just be done over google talk or skype speaking of which, I sure would like to see interop between them!
