Hello, I have a Joomla site which does not have any url-rewrite component installed for a long time. So lots of pages in my sites were previously indexed as not url-rewritten (e.g. ../content/123324). But i have an url-rewrite component insatlled on it now. Recenly i noticed that Google is showing my previous (not url-rewritten version) versions of my pages as supplemantal results. Normally when user clicks a link pointing to previous version url, it automatically redirected to the url-rewriteen url so i guess my url-rewrite component does its job pretty good. My questioons are as below: - Do these supplemantal results have any negative impact on my pagerank and traffic? - Does google recheck the supplemantal results? So that it can remove previous urls from its index and use only the new ones! - If it does not recheck supplemantal results (SR) and SR has negative impact, how can i remove SR urls from their index? Here is a list of my supplemantal results: http**//www.google.com/search?q=site:java-tips.org&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&start=830&sa=N Thanks.
Why does google put pages in the Supplemental Results you can read here : http://www.jimboykin.com/damned-to-google-hell-supplemental-results/ And also explanations how to get out are also there .
Explanation was good but i did not see any solution to my problem there. So i should link back to old urls to remove them from sup. index? And as far as i see, article says supplemantal results may be revisited by Google bot..
