Your point being??? I'm advertising a site where the user completes offers to get the file, hence the very high payout... I laugh at the idea that you upload a file on Sharpfile, and then it can only be downloaded about 250 times, and then it is no longer valid "This file reached max downloads limit".... How ridiculous is that LOL! So we have to keep re-uploading the file???..... How are people meant to reach the insanely high minimum payout of $25 if you keep deleting files and set a limit for the number of times a file can be downloaded.........................

He's right you know - it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard with regard to file sharing. However since sharpfile doesn't work anymore and the owner has vanished I would probably have to say it no longer matters.

Edit: Seems Mubin is back over at WJ

Site is back online and running fine.

Guys, what are you talking about with regards to the limit on how many times the file can be downloaded.

    Hi Bud
    Well it's like this ...
Once a file has been downloaded a certain number of times - 750 seems to come up a lot but I've seen people complain of the problem with files that have been downloaded a lot less than 750 times too, it becomes unavailable and a message appears saying it has reached it's maximum download count and can no longer be downloaded. Not sure if upgrading to premium lets you download the file or not, but it's for sure that a lot of people will just close the page and never come back, and most likely just avoid sharpfile links in the future (just like I do with oron - as soon as I see oron links I close the page and move on).
Now if the downloader lets us know then we can delete and re-upload (what a waste of time !), but if not then out websites just accumulate dead links and we know nothing about it 'cos the file isn't deleted, it's just unavailable.

If you didn't do this deliberately then there must be a setting in xfs (your script) that needs changing. I've never installed a copy so I don't know it's back end, but it must be there somewhere.

Hope that helps (all of us !)

PS: I'm pretty sure that affiliate earnings are not counting - I show zero for 3 days now, which seems unlikely. Upload is working really well though :)

Just a wag, I have set it to unlimited now.

You should no longer see this problem anymore.

Are you seeing any downloads? Everything seems to be okay on my end though.

    Hi Mubin
Sorry - I meant to say referral stats are not counting - I am personally seeing a small number of downloads, but I expect that - my files usually convert at about 10-20 downloads per sale so I don't worry too much about the actual number of downloads per se, in fact I would be better off on pure pps if it where an option.
Great to hear you sorted out that other problem (file unavailable) - that really needed doing :)

PS: Remote Upload is down again

CCBILL HAS DISCONTINUED ITS PROCESSING RELATIONSHIPS WITH FILE LOCKER WEBSITES.

Effective immediately, CCBill has discontinued processing for all file locker websites. While CCBill continues to back the business models of our client base without bias, it has been made aware of multiple instances involving content residing on various client websites which violate our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).

Due to the sensitivity of the matter, CCBill conducted an exhaustive internal investigation with the goal of determining the validity of claims concerning the breach of our AUP. Following the investigation, CCBill decided it can no longer provide transaction services to businesses operating a file locker model.

From inception, CCBill relied on the ability of file locker websites to actively monitor incoming uploads from external sources and immediately remove any illicit files thereafter identified. It has become clear that such a task is both difficult for website operators to accomplish and nearly impossible for CCBill to verify.

CCBill would like to thank those individuals who have provided examples of content existing on file locker websites which is in violation of our AUP. We are all part of this community and we believe it is our collective responsibility to maintain core values and ethics within the adult marketplace. CCBill has, and always will maintain its high standards in dealing with copyright infringement, illegal content and all aspects of our AUP.

CCBill holds client privacy in the highest regard, and under no circumstance will we discuss specific details related to any previous or current client relationship. We respectfully ask for consideration of these policies, and thus please do not ask us to betray this trust.

Thank the people over at GFY for this happening.

Hey Mubin - since you put the site up for sale are you planning on paying your affiliates ? I'd really like to know if I'm just wasting my time now or if it's worth continuing ?

    Cheers

Fair enough mate - good stuff !
I do hope the new owner is decent - I've put a fair bit of work into my website/sharpfile partnership - would hate to see it all go to waste 'cos I really don't think I have the time or stamina to change hosts again lol.

    Hello Guys,

http://sharpfile.com is coming under new owner, ME [IMG]

I ask that everyone please just give us a few days to get the sale completed and I promise everyone will be helped and there are alot of plans in motion.

All requests will be taken care of, but again please as I am new owner, I need just a few days to catch up with everything going on and again I promise as the new owner to answer everyone's questions and make sure to try to do my best. The current owner is being very helpful in the transitioning of the website and working with me and we plan on taking care of everyone's questions and inquries

I look forward to working with all affiliates and more announcements will be made as the week continues and all questions will be answered.

    Kind Regards,

Interesting to see this site apparently come to an end. Looked promising in the beginning. Did not appear there were any substantial earnings from this venture.

I don't see why this is coming to an end - the new owner has just spent his/her hard earned cash to buy the site as a going concern, so why on earth would they close it ? Personally I'm looking forward to the new situation since there is incentive to improve and expand the host. However I have not yet been paid what I'm already owed, so we will see what happens I guess.

Mubin - if your reading this ....
I did send you a pm over at WJ as requested, however I'm not sure if it really got sent as their system doesn't give any confirmation, plus there's nothing in my 'sent items'. I see the thread has been closed (which helps no one but is typical WJ behavior). If you would like me to send you a pm here instead just say - be happy to do it (and DP's pm system works properly for me).

    Hey Everyone,

As are making some changes to the site and trying our best to make it great experience for users and affiliates, if you have any suggestions or requests that would like us to do, please let us know and we will try our best.

We are working very hard right now,and want everyone to make money at http://sharpfile.com and also be able to store their files there with great upload speeds and downloads speeds. We have hired a full time server-management company to monitor the servers 24x7 to make sure you only get the best speeds available.

As I mentioned, please be patient and give us a chance to get our stuff in order and we hope to work well with everyone :)

Congrats! I saw the auction on flippa and in my opinion you got the site at an excellent price, *nearly a bargain* I think if you run the site with ability and intelligence you will get a very profitable business, and maybe sharpfile could be the next wupload or filesonic :D

Keep in mind the good model and example of mubin as an honest and wonderful person! Thank you mubin for everything!! and a warm welcome to sciborg!!

    best regards
