As the title states, would anyone be interested in a php licensing system? I am thinking of developing one so let me know if there is any specific key features in it that you would like to see!
Not sure what you are looking at doing - but a MUCH cheaper alternative to Zend for hiding / protecting PHP code from being copied would be really useful
Well what I am thinking of is a product that you can license/distribute your own website systems or projects with. For example to limit a website to a specific domain or ip address on the fly. What do you guys think of that?
It will of course include a administration panel to manage all the current licenses and a little bit more, it will be very simple and straight forward. Any ideas?
How are you planning for your solution to be different to one of the dozens of other products out there that do the same thing already?
That is a good question. I have used totally three products in the licensing scene and I am sick of them either lacking some features I would like or is waaaay to complicated. What I will create will be straight on and extremely easy for everyone to use, heck I will use it as soon as it's finished as well. I will try to find the right fit between an easy user interaction and functionality, hopefully it will get better and better as I will actually use it myself too and add / tweak it all the time to match new needs etc. The main point with it though, will be the real ease to license and distribute your products.

I would also recommend the possibilty of integrating into a billing system. Its why I have forked out for WHMCS's licensing addon. Works well.
Yes. It will be a complete licensing system with an administration panel to create the products and then distribute the licenses for the products.

You're wrong about that. I have finished the licensing system and I currently have it deployed on 4 customers. I will make it available for purchase as soon as I finish the re-make of our website. Regarding if this is a important system or not, I think it is to some, depending on their products. For example if you have some sort of website system which you sell to a lot of people, then it would be good to have some sort of system that makes sure if a customer releases the script on some forum, the new users of the forums won't be able to use it without purchasing a license for it.
