Do follows don't help much when there are 1000 other comments from spammers on the same page. Good luck with that.

Really after very long time span.....I am here. By the the answer of your question is, it depends. If blog has high PR(Page Rank) and have trust in google the it will definitely help do follow blog commenting. But their are lot of other aspects also.

If you are having a do-follow link then yes it is useful and there's no bad thing about it.

If you have too many do follow links and not many no follow, it will be seen as unnatural link building and you will be penalized for it.

 

Blog commenting always helps the website, weather it's dofollow or now.
You may not get much from nofollow links but searchengines notice your neighborhood and where the links are coming from, if the links are coming from good and authority websites they surely do help your website to some extent.

But, I never said not to have no-follow links! Its important to have mix of no follow and do follow links pointing to your website.

I've got a small list of dofollow blogs, just about 15-20, thats worth posting on. When I set up a new site ill try to post blogposts on 5ish of the dofollow blogs during the first month of the site just to get it startet linkwise. Have worked well so far.

Yes it will help as long as they are going to be theme related and non-Spammy. Cause you can't spam the blogs at least they need to be unique. And even don't go after PR cause PR doesn't matter cause you are looking for traffic if a site don't have that much PR but they have well visitor I will suggest you to build links on those sites. Cause those helps more then PR sites.
