My partner and I have decided to sale http://www.nameyourserver.com/. We are asking for the buy it now to be $9000 for this website via PayPal and the bidding of the site starts at $8000. We have put a lot of work into this website and it shows with it being a PR1 website! At one point the website was making $200 plus per month.

Hosting has become so hard to rank with. GoD...I won't mention the whole name, but you know who I am talking about, really has degraded it.

 

It is hard to rank high these days. The great news is this site is PR1 and it has been like that for a very long time.

 

That price is based on speculation, not reality.

It's normal to sell a site at a price of 12 months revenue. If you say that it had a TOP of 200$, it is definetly not worth 8000$.

I wish you good luck with selling it, but if you stick to 8000$ I think you'll have the website for a long time.

 

It's been making around $100 plus per month when promoting it a lot. The highest around $200 in one month, so it does have a lot of potential with the right promotion done. The hard work is out of the way with it being PR1.

 

$100 a month with promotion makes this site worth around $1k tops.

 

It has received around $200 plus a few times spread out. Also, it has 359 unique articles all 400 words plus - that alone is worth over $1k.

12 x TOP revenue ($200) would be $2400. If you think the articles are worth $1k that's $3400. So are you suggesting that having it hit PR1 is worth $4600? That's your pricing broken down.
Thats also considering the fact you would charge x12 revenue which is high and assuming your pricing your own articles....

You have excellent ratings. I'm just confused why a veteran like yourself would offer to sell such an overpriced website. Even if you lower down opening bid to $800, I doubt people would even jump at that price. Just my 2 cents.

 

First off, thank you for the compliments. This website is old. It was born in the year 2003. A lot of time and many hours have been put in this website. The domain name was a premium domain name at the time of the purchase. I am willing to negotiate the price in private pm's but I won't go under a certain price for it, which I won't say here. People can send me suggestions in pm's and I will let them know if their personal bid is workable.

 

I hate to say it but nobody cares about the sites articles, domain, or age if it's already met its potential. You can't base a price off of what you think but rather the cold hard facts of profit. If baseing sites of what I think their worth and selling them for it- I would be a millionaire.
