I know this will NEVER happen but it's intresting how much do you think a text link would go for on the front page of google? Few million $$'s?

You know in my experience I usually get better results from Yahoo then google & Yahoo crawls my site atleast 10 times a day and have 1k backlinks there whilst with google its barley that. Yahoo is very good imo but I still use google because of there clean and no ads homepage and there simple search stuff.
optimize one of your sites to rank in the top ten for "christmas" and when google changes the logo for the day you'll see just how much traffic you get even if your #20
I sent a very nice letter asking them to index my site the next day they did index it, I don't know if it was coincidence but they are nice and if you ask you might get something out of it

The site it linked to would get a PR8 at least. I know someone who has a link from a page on Google.com but it is a sub page with a PR8 and they are on there with about 40 other companies who have used this Google search thingie on thier website and then supplied a testimonial.
Why would any individual want to do that. The bandwidth would just crash on you. I am guessing that microsoft would fight with yahoo to the end for one though. Thank You
Even if you pay $0.001 per impression your ad gets, I'd say you'd have to spent thousands or even millions of USDs every month!

Guess if Google puts your link on their index page.. and the traffic which comes to your site will be irrelevant than.... TOTAL LOSS
It happened and it was free The joinred link didn't last long What was Google thinking... Link is now replaced with a logo and a search for world aids day
actually very valuable currently my site Linkspub Directory shows up as no 2 or 3 for the keywords voting countries and the traffic i get from just that is like 10 - 20 visitors a day. If your link was on google's homepage, I think you would need to have a few dedicated servers to handle the traffic.
well if they give it for free for me i get i couldn't pay for my hosting,that would cost massive traffic.
