Hello everyone, My website traffic drop dramatically in these two days, and now only about 20 Ip everyday, what's the reason, i didn't do any website spam post. Really need your helps. Thanks
Not really enough information here to guess the problem. What is your main source of traffic? If it has been Google, possibly your search engine rank dropped.
If you've been adding a lot of new content recently, your site is Dancing to see what PR it should have. If you haven't been, you're simply yet another victim of the beautiful algorithm changes. Sharing your URL will certainly help figure out hat the problem is.
You should be tracking your traffic and data with Google Analytics. If you were doing this you could see exactly where every visitor comes from (search, referral, direct). And you would know which source of traffic has stopped coming in. Since its a sudden drop I assume its search traffic. If you tracked with Analytics you would also know the keywords your site ranks for and you could easily check your rankings for those keywords to see if you got dropped. Basically, all your questions could be answered with site tracking software. How can you possibly expect us to diagnose your problems if you didnt even give us a URL?
USA and UK going into recession. Retail sales has gone down online and offline. That is what the data tells which is released from govt. offices every month. When people don't buy they also don't search in google. Or it may be a new update from google. My adsense earnings also reduced to great extent. But traffic is still the same.
On some topics the economy doesn't really matter. One of my niches is informational only and people that search for it don't want to buy products, they simply want information. The global economy can effect search results but only in some niches. If your traffic remains the same but your earnings go down its because of advertiser demand and competition. This situation, like you said, could be related to low demand in that particular industry. But in this guys situation his traffic dropped sharply. Most likely because of a rankings being dropped due to update or being banned from Google.
"On some topics the economy doesn't really matter" When economy is bad it matters a lot for every business whether its insurance business or education business, ecommerce business or any other type of business. People those who advertise through adwords are mostly businesses only. When they spend money in adwords that is what we get in adsense.
You are not understanding me correctly. What you said above is correct. But what I am saying is that his website is potentially a website that provides articles or information on a topic and is not business related. This traffic comes from Google search. His problem is that his traffic has decreased. You made the point that it could be due to less searches due to the economy, but my point is that his topic could be one that is not effected by the economy. For example, a website about a species of spider. No matter what the economy is doing people will still research information about the spider species and his traffic would not be effected by the economy. Now, his adsense income from this spider website WOULD be effected by the economy because, as you said, businesses by adwords ads and they need to sell products which can be in low demand in this type of economy. But since he gave us so little information about his website, you and me are only speculating as to what his problem could be, whether its the economy or bad SEO or a dropped search ranking. So maybe we can get some more info to help.
Thanks everyone, the most source of my website came from google, about 80%, now only 3 keywords to my site, it is terrible.
Well, I see a new application for the word "Google Dance" Whereas before, our Google ranking is dancing if our site is new, Now I think Google's algorithms are also dancing since it is now changing very often!
As mentioned earlier, you should use Google Analytics to help give you a clearer picture of what happened.. Google seems like it changes by the day now...
