Blog being Clickbombed. Need Help

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by gauharjk, Jun 2, 2012.

I have a major problem. My blog is being clickbombed. I had recently DMCAed a few scrapper sites for copying my articles. Had complained to the webhost of one of the sites. It could be them trying to take down my account.

disable ads on the site using the allowed sites setting at adsense. this will stop it from charging adwords customers and you can leave the ads on your site so you don't have empty space. also send a notice to google.

Did these two things.. Now will have to hope and pray my account does not get disabled. Will reenable the ads from Allowed Sites settings after a few days...

most likely after a while they will get bored an realize it ain't working and they will quit wasting their time. You might want to do a little more research in finding out where they are coming from. I used http://statcounter.com and found that the clicks were coming from Amazon.com and did a little research and found a lot of people get bad clicks from their spiders. Try blocking amazon.com with your htaccess and see if that gets rid of the problem. It worked for me. I wasn't getting that many clicks though, just about 10-15 a day. But stat counter is pretty good, IMO, and can help you track the IP of whoever is doing it and you can block the IP address being used. If you decide to use statcounter.com be sure to remove Google analytics.

I have added statcounter plugin and configured it.

The clicks just keep coming. I have removed the site from Allowed sites list. But a few hours ago, I saw adsense income up another 100$, but it readjusted downwards after a while... I am really worried. Hope this stops soon.

One piece of advice... When you DMCA someone, don't contact their webhost asking them to remove infringing articles. They will know who you are and try such shit on you. Just contact Google with the DMCA complaint, and stay anonymous...

If you found the IP addresses that are coming suspicious clicks via statcounter reports and block them to not visit your site. I think removing the Adsense code for a while is the best option for now. Report the case to Google along with those IP addresses.

I don't know how to find those IP addresses... So many people come to my site. I have Wassup plugin on my blogs already... I checked them out... Could not find any Vietnam IP address. And many US-based visitors. I don't know which IP address to block. I have now added Clickaider tracking to track down which IP addresses are clicking which ads... But it does not seem to be working yet... Does not show any data. Also have Statcounter.

Will see what I can find. In the meantime, my site will be out of the Allowed Sites list... which is very sad because it was my best site (atleast until penguin update halved its traffic, but still better than others)...

That is pretty shitty. It messed up how these jealous morons work ain't it? It's sucks that they are too stupid to write and build their own shit, they gotta steal other peoples and then get mad if you catch them. It's like they think you should just allow them to steal from you. You definitely don't want to let them know who you are, jealous people click bomb people. It's almost funny and gives me a sense of satisfaction when they do it to me because it lets me know I got under their skin. But it is dangerous to your Adsense account so should be avoided when possible. Use a proxy to go to their site so they can't track you and don't write them directly giving your self away.
I hope you get it worked out and your Adsense account stays safe.

    good luck to ya
    Rob

Do a Print Screen of you web page,, then cut out the adsense ad block/banner, and remove you adsense for a day,, and have the false ad block you just cut out in it's place.

You can then track their IP or send them somewhere nasty (porn virus sites).

Or sell on the extra traffic to PTC sites.. (tongue in cheek).. LOL..

This is a big weakness with Google - there's no real way to report this kind of activity. If you're not a big publisher, you're pretty much screwed because that 100%+ ctr is going to trigger a fraud audit at the end of the month.

Interested to see how this plays out and whether Google realizes it's click fraud against the OP.

Remembered a long time ago there is a site that can make your computer and browser crash. Maybe the OP can try that :) I think it will auto open a lot of windows until the CPU resource is stuck and crashes. Good revenge.

Clickbombing against my blog continues.... Statcounter shows me when ad blocks were clicked. I can see someone clicking on my ads dozens of times in a minute... But Statcounter won't show visitor details or IP address... How do I block this guy now?

Have you tried the trap we suggested previously? If it was me I would remove Adsense for awhile, maybe 3,4 days. Some would say to report the activity but from what most are saying when they reported the fraud clicks they got baned. Pretty ironic but that is what happening nowadays.

There is this one clickbomber and hundreds of legitimate visitors. How should I set this trap?

You sacrifice your visitor, only 20 plus are clicking the ads anyway. Its still worth it to get your revenge to the clickbomber

    Say goodbye to your account.
I got clickbombed for only 20 clicks and I only made $2 from all the clickbombings.
I sent in an email saying I got clickbombed but I still got banned.

Google doesn't give a shit about you, it's YOUR responsibility to not get clickbombed.
I know it sounds weird but it's the truth.
