7 Warning Signs That Your Blogging Career Might Fail

When you are starting out as a blogger, it’s imperative to keep a close eye on these 7 warning signs that might fail you as a blogger. As a result, you’ll avoid these common mistakes and stay in a right track for blogging success in the long-run.
Successful blogging means showing up daily as a writer, marketing oneself to build contacts and networks among other bloggers so that you generate traffic, expect to fail but also think that you deserve to win, and think on building value to readers as well as blog for profits.
In this article, we’ll look at these 7 deadly sins of blogging that might lead you to failure and how you can avoid them happening so in your life.
    1. You don't show up regularly
In order to become a successful blogger or a writer, you need to show up every day. Writing is a craft (art) and if you run from it, then you can’t be better at it.
However, if you show up writing regularly, you’ll start to create unblock your creativity and allow yourself to open up more freely. You become more connected to your creativity within. This way you’ll always bypass the inner critic and let your imagination ride.
All you have to do is write regularly and learn from the feedback you get from your readers. This way you’ll also become a prolific writer and not really care about the outcome but focus on the process of writing itself. Overtime, you’ll just write.
    2. You don't write content that are helpful to others
Writing means you want to share your experience about a writer. How you came about upon the idea of writing, what were the struggles you faced, and how you overcome it. It’s all about sharing unique experiences.
This way you’ll add value to readers. When they read your articles, they can relate themselves to your life story as a struggling artist at first, and then how you recovered and became successful in your field. These types of article are helpful for newbie writer or bloggers.
If you run out of choosing topics to write for your blog, read my article on how to come up with killer content for you blog.
Sometimes, it might be that you don’t brainstorm enough about a topic. Hence you don’t come up with every issue that you might have missed. But don’t let that stop you. You can always improve your writing the more you show up.
    3. You write great content but you hesitate to promote yourself
What’s the use if you write great content but nobody gets to read them? No matter how helpful your content may be, if you don’t know how to market your blog, then no one will ever get a chance to find you.
Successful bloggers are awesome promoters themselves. In fact, they are the best promoters themselves. But poor bloggers don’t like to market themselves and hope that someday, by luck, they’ll get noticed by other bloggers and get a flow of traffic to their site.
This principle is best explained in the book Rich Dad Poor Dad, by the acclaimed author Robert T. Kiyosaki. Kiyosaki explains why the best-selling authors and not always the best-writing authors. These authors are excellent marketing machine and that’s why, even though their content might not be at their peak, they collect enough people to look at their products and ultimately buy them.
You should also do the same.
If you’re not leaving blog comments, do it every day. Make it a routine. Successful bloggers spend time and effort on writing quality comments on other blogs so that anyone reading them will want to follow their site and get to know about the writer.
From now on, leave blog comments everywhere, write at least three forum posts every day, and send backtracks to almost every blogs you see on the net.
    4. You put a ceiling while you blog
In other words, you limit yourself while blogging. You set certain limited goals so you become comfortable with. For example, you set a goal of earning $1,000 dollar every month working 8 hours a day for the next year.
What this does is condition your mind to expect only what you have set for. So that’s what you’ll get. But if your goal is to write high quality blog posts, the results you get from them also might astound you. The quality of your content determines the number of traffic you’ll get.
You cannot dream, try, and rest while you set up a limit.
Just consider great Bill Gates for a moment. What’s his financial thermostat is set for? Billions!
That’s right. If everyone took all the money he had, Gates would still figure out ways to attract the same billions because his thermostat is set for ‘billions dollar’.
Remember, sky is not the limit. Dream, try, rest. Bring out the creativity within you that are boundless and they’ll reflect in your posts
    5. You don't appreciate positive comments and responses from people
It’s normal, especially when you’re starting out as a writer or a blogger to get few comments and visits to your blog because you’re just ‘starting out’. Building a reputation as a writer or a blogger requires time and effort on a consistent basis.
So, it’s not wise to fret when you see few visits and hits to your blog. No matter how small, you should always appreciate them. Say thank you to someone who cared to like your post. Leave a comment or initiate a conversation within a comment for future topics.
Remember, blogging is all about building a community. In order to create a big communication channels, you need to focus on building small communication channels first.
If you're a rich blogger, you consider every small comments and feedbacks as a gift back from god. Show appreciation to every small feedback and comments you receive, and according to the law of attraction, you’ll get the more of those results.
Show that you appreciate positive comments and feedbacks.
    6. You think you don't deserve
You don't think that you deserve to be a successful blogger. That's why you’re just in a ride. If something goes awful along the way, you simply quit. You don’t stick around long, which is crucial to let your blog grow and see really good improvements.
We program ourselves for failure even before we begin the battle. Remember, successful blogging is a journey, and not a destination. That’s why they are also fun and a learning curve for greater things that are coming your way in the future.
The ‘I can’t do it’, ‘I don’t deserve it’, and ‘I am not worthy of becoming rich out of blogging’ isn’t helpful attitudes. They’re limiting self-beliefs about ourselves that holds us back from becoming a better and well-fed blogger or a writer.
Believe that you deserve it. From now on, clear any hesitation and doubts about yourself. Write a blog post everyday and not care much about the results at first because you won’t. Just focus on the process of becoming comfortable of writing, marketing, and learning monetization skills necessary skills.
Greater rewards will start to come once you become you are consistent with your action.
    7. You think you should either blog or make money, not both
Most of the bloggers, especially new ones, think in ‘either, or’ mentality while blogging. When given an option between ‘blogging’ and ‘making money’, they choose only one. But they don’t go for both. That’s why they fail at blogging.
Remember, successful bloggers always go for both. They like to help people by blogging about ideas and also make money out of it.

If you’re still confused, let me clear you with an example. What is important to you, your left hand of or your right hand? Both! What is important to you, work or play? Both! What is important, family or friends? I bet you want to have them both.

So in order to become a successful and rich blogger, you need to think in terms of both. Only poor or struggling bloggers think in ‘either/or’ mentality. That’s why they aren’t successful in the first place.

So, I would advise you to build value among your readers by providing helpful and informative articles and also make money out of it. Think in terms of both.
    There you have it.
In this article, we discussed 7 warning signs that might fail you as a blogger when you don’t pay attention. In order to become a successful and rich blogger, you must show up every day to write content for your blog.
Then you must also be ready to promote yourself. Check out my article on how you can start to promote yourself using different marketing strategies. Don’t limit yourself and your success. Shoot for the stars. Always think that you deserve success and wealth because if you don’t, you won’t be long in the blogging business. And finally, think in terms of both.

Fail by whose standards? I bet most blogs don't work because people don't take the time to cultivate them.

Yea I've made a little money from blogging but the main reason I got out of it is because I'm just lazy.. LOL.. I'm more of a behind the scenes type person.

THere are tons of other ways to make money online besides blogging. It's actually mind boggling sometimes..

Can't hate on blogging though. I wouldn't be where I am today without first starting out with that wordpress.com blog.. LOL..

I think everyone started out with the wp.com blog and then when they realized they couldn't make any money with it, they looked into switching it over to a self hosted..
