Have a site up http://www.codeblue.me with it's official FB page at http://www.facebook.com/CodeBlueMe and twitter account at @CodeBlueMe Since yesterday have over 600 fb likes and a few sign ups and some people posting a few micro offers, but need much more. I plan on having a template done (Really cool one), and some great features added in including a paying referral system, and some more things, but for now it has to earn a few dollars to make that happen, so I need users, and traffic. How would you approach this? I'd like to hear from some nice people with good experience on dealing with making sites happen with a tiny starting budget.
Looks like you are already off to a good start... maybe before investing more money, maybe sit back and see where it goes...I would not invest more into my own site until I see people taking more interest...
Thanks. Seems like the perfect site for little microjobs for designers / coders etc to make an easy few dollars on the side. Any really good webmaster forums besides DP where some people might take interest? I can't post in too many forum areas here yet, but hoping to be pretty active.
Actually the plans I have are quite completely different than fiverr yet still have some of the same functionality. The look is planned completely different. Right now the script is basically just bare bones, but will over time and budget, turn into something quite interesting. I wouldn't want something just like fiverr, as I'm sure a billion people have tried that. Completely see your point though, but I already thought of that. I just have some unique ideas to spin on paper, that need to be converted to a working model.
Exactly what I was thinking. Just looking at reminds me of fiverr only he switched which sides the menus are on. The sites looks nice, and I hope you are successful, but.....
I don't have issues driving millions of unique visitors to a site.. That's not the issue. The problem is getting the initial people onboard doing some content population / service submissions that populate the site so that potential traffic I can send along might want to purchase and sign up for.
That's why you need to be unique and offer people something they can't get anywhere else. That's the formula of successful business. Being just one of many isn't going to make you rich.
