I'm getting ready to launch a site that I've been working on for the past couple years and I've got a few keywords i want to rank for in Google. I was just curious as to what you guys thought were the best companies to outsource this to? I'm looking for quality white hat SEO to be done here. What I'm looking for is:

    >Guaranteed backlinks from relavant sites with decent page rank 3-4
    >Quality articles to be submitted to various places that have high page rank (I could even write the articles myself)
    >I need for the video that I will be creating to be submitted to various places with decent pagerank

I've used a company in the past that didn't do a bad job but there were always some translation issues and the backlinks where just spambot links, the videos submitted were just a video of a screenshot of the site...not complaining for what I payed they did a really good job and got my site ranked decent in google. But I've put a lot of time and effort into this current one and I want everything to be right and relevant.....any suggestions????

You've run into your first problem: what the average DP poster thinks of as white hat is actually still spam, but done manually (forum and blog comments, for example). Or is just plain ineffective (directory submission - look up Matt Cutts on directories and also the state of directories post-Panda/Penguin).

This is a good article on things to avoid in an "SEO" company:

    http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/6-surefire-signs-that-your-seo-company-sucks

You're not going to get a guarantee of this "white hat". You also need to understand PR is a pointless number and easy to fake. You want backlinks from authority sites, for example. Social media. Organically gained backlinks (so look up linkbait, infographics, etc). A social media presence (a real one, not fake/spam).

See above, really (regarding PR). It's not about quantity, but quality. For example, you could post your video to 20 sites or just focus on YouTube (or YT plus a few other quality sites) and establish a good presence and following. Which ones going to get your more traffic? Which ones going to seem like you're trying to stuff content every place possible?

Don't put all your eggs in one basket... means don't get one company to do it all for you. If this project means that much to you, spend some time reading SEOmoz and you'll find a lot of good information about how to get a good following, how to get people to come to you. Also Search Engine Land has some great stuff too, including plenty of Panda and Penguin guidance. (Your last company sounds like they enjoy feeding Google's "pets".) From all that, you should be able to develop a good strategy and know how to select companies/individuals.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the reply! I'll be doing some reading. Also didn't know page rank could be faked...thanks for that info :)

Yeah, but authority can't be faked and this is the real thing to focus on. SEOmoz is very good for an insight into authority (it might not be Google's exact view of it, but their interpretation is very good).

Good luck with your endeavours, mate.
