I am curious if the conference is worth it. I am downtown Chicago and have been working on SEO for about four years but I've never been to a conference. I am thinking I should just dip my toes and walk around the exhibitor section because it's free -- http://www.searchenginestrategies.com/sew/chicago06/exhibitors.html http://www.searchenginestrategies.com/sew/chicago06/registration.html Do you think this other stuff is worth it e.g. Linking Strategies - "How far is too far in optimizing your internal link structure? If you operate a network of sites, can natural interlinking be perceived as link spam? How should you handle affiliate links?" etc. I don't think my wife would ever let me spend the money to attend the conference if I have to pay Or -- would someone like to pay me to set up a booth and be your representative and pass out stuff?
This is a question I also wanted to get answered. I am pretty decent with marketing. I hear that SES is mostly for people who want to network with people in the industry, or for people just starting out and trying to get a grasp on the different fields in SEM. I am not stingy, don't get me wrong, I can afford to go to SES. I just don't think it will really benefit me at the time being. This more or less is me making myself feel better about not going this year, but whatever. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
It's not so much of a learning experience as it is a social one. I definitely enjoy going, but don't expect you're going to come away from it with a lot of information that you can't find on SEO forums.
I see - I definetly want to go, I read thru the different seminars out of all of them I would only maybe go to 2-3. I don't really think thats worth $700 - thats just my personal opinion. I know our good friend shoemoney and shawn hogan are big on pubcon and ses, but it looks like they are more or less in it nowdays for just networking and meeting up with their friends in the industry. Correct me if I am wrong.
