I threw up PHProxy on my existing server so start up cost was $0. The logs are here: http://logs.icarusindie.com:2004/proxy/ I have no ads so no profit yet. However, in less than two months with no paid advertising I now get a few dozen unique ips a day. The amount of bandwidth it uses is rediculous. My DMOZ mirror gets over 800 unique IPs per day and uses 1/3rd the bandwidth of the proxy. I don't think it's going to be easy to make a lot of money with a proxy unless you have access to very cheap bandwidth. Most of your profits will be eaten by overhead.
mind to give URL from where u earn these .. ? i think you need work with content. mobile ads pay good. but need to see what ur website content..
Ok for those of you who want to follow my progress. Day 2 results (yesterday): $16 adsense (this includes HMA which is lame, since HMA usually makes $30.. just a bad day I guess) $12 adversal *Still awaiting confirmation from vibrantmedia for other ads. Can't give full stats since I only implemented google analytics last night.
I'm paying $144 a month for a P4 2.8ghz, 2gb ram, 80gb drive, Direct admin, 2Tb bandwidht from layeredtech. Also, for new proxies, you should add a new domain every few days to make sure your domain hasn't been blocked already. Where do you get them kind of stats from? It doesn't look like analytics to me. Also, just take a look at the 3 domains in proxy.org's movers. 2, 3 and 4 are all people who have posted in this thread.
Currently I am running about 20 proxies. Started with 1, and loved the way that traffic and money was coming in. Its saturday today and have already made 44.00 Hopefully this Monday I will be crossing 100.00 per day, and all these proxies are less than a week old. Wish me luck.
