Wordpress theme with Newspaper style

I was having a look at a website http://sciencemode.com/ and they are having a cool wordpress theme which shows the posts from different categories on main page.

Anyone having any idea where this theme can be found. Even if this one is custom made, i am sure there will be something similar to this.

Also, is there any plugin, which allows a person to post articles from different categories on the main page.

I came across one called "gridlock"...dunno if that'd suit your needs 100%

Solostream are good for newspaper style themes use them most of the time for my Wordpress sites now.
