Im sure a lot of you are older than I am and have already experienced getting wisdom teeth removed. Im almost 19 now and they are coming in at full force. One hurts really bad and its almost hard to eat on that side. Does anyone have any home remedies or medicines (example tylonel) or anything else that works to ease the pain? Thanks

Don't fool around too long, get to the dentist as soon as you can.

When my wisdom teeth were impacted I did manage to ease the swelling by using a water irrigator to lessen things. I have a high tolerance for pain, so when I fixed the water on the swelling it was bothersome but it did reduce the swelling somewhat.

Find a pain reliever too and you'll feel better for awhile. Still, you'll need to address the root problem [pun intended] and have your wisdom teeth removed.

That's a loooong wait! Consider gargling with water and salt too.

If things worsen, you may need an antibiotic for the infection.

I hope that you feel better!

Just getting them out is the best option. I had mine cut out when I was 14, probably because my dentist has a secret deal with the local oral surgeon.

But getting them out could save a lot of trouble

I have not had mine removed but I am always weary of dentists. I remember 20 years ago getting a quote from my usual dentist to fix up a broken tooth. He quoted me $3000. I nearly coughed up my larynx over that! So, I went to another dentist and would you believe he fixed my tooth for $60? That was 20 years ago and the fixed tooth is as good as ever.

    Col :)

I wouldn't want to risk it with a cheap dentist. I've heard some horror stories. I'd rather pay the $3000.

They say wisdom comes with age.
I'm 31 next month and my wisdom teeth are still coming through.
Top left popped through last year, and others are threatening still.

If they are above your gum it's not too bad. Mine weren't even close to coming up, so they were cut out. It sucked...But....

You'll get some vicodin (hydrocodone) afterwards for pain which can be fun. Just be liberal with your doses (to avoid the pain of course) and get the prescription refilled after a day or two.
