I have just installed phpld 4.2 on my new directory and to say the least I am very impressed.

Has anybody else tried it yet???

I seem to think it is very quick on submission compared to 4.1 or is it just me that thinks it is??
There also seems to be quite alot of new stuff in it.

My favorite version is 3.4 but I think I could be converting.

Directory owners let me know what you think of it if you have tried it. Before I buy a load more licences.

One of our mod developers who favored an old 3.x version said he is planning to start switching to 4.2 May favorite new parts are the media manager and the task manager.

I think the best part is the 3 part submission it may help cut down on submission software and spammers.

Thanks, and because we worked on it for over a year, I keep finding there are features that I forget to mention. For example, there is a video uploader built into the script now. :)

    Hi,

Can you please tell me how to install phpld 4.2 version. This is the first time I am making my own directory but dont know how to install.
After downloading the version I tried to install via filezilla client but some of the files failed. Please tell me if you know how to install. I really need your help.

    Looking forward to your replies.

    Thanks in advance

    Have a nice day!

Um. Did you know you can get support on this at phpLD? If you own a license, that would not be a problem at all. You probably would want to be installing the newest version which is 4.2.1, a major speed improvement to phpLD.

Been looking to create several sites using phpld for the projects on my plate.

Thanks dvduval about the "video uploader built into the script" tip.

Thank you. Make sure your host has ffmpeg installed on the server. If not, most hosts don't mind doing that for you.

New to Digital Point and phpLD. We can't even get the V3.4 install to run right and then there is deprecated "split" vs. explode PHP V5 command, , etc.

Was looking for Installation patch on V3.4 but saw touter of LD V4.
We can not find our way around on phpLD forum.

We can not determine whether V4 had Link bid function needed??
Maybe the V4 install would run better or have better documentation (ie or have examples using subdirectory, etc.)

Dave or James or phpLD people, what about V4 which we assume runs better also with PHP 5.3.

    Thanks

The bidding feature is not phpLD version 4 or the new version 5. If you have a license (sounds like you do for 3.4) you have access to version 4.2.2 and it works great with PHP 5.3. You also would have access to our support ticket system in case you need further help.

We regret the prior post on the first day of download--We did not properly go through the support ticket area before whining.
We got LB3.3 which was somewhat outdated but needed that link bid function. James in phpLD support not only updated it to fix some PHP5.3 instruction changes, but also installed it for us, all in few days (which is fast). (It may be 3.4 now). Thanks phpLD support. We aspire to be so effective.

Thanks for the positive feedback! Much appreciated! I also saw the support ticket where you communicated with James.
