I've been searching the web for weeks now, testing demos, reading reviews and PULLING MY HAIR out...hoping to find a decent, well priced freelance site script. I thought that I had narrowed it down between Kubelance and Guruscript, but now I found this thread. I have to admit, the posts that support this product sound as if they are a bit contrived, but who knows, the product may actually be good? PLEASE, if there are any DP members with some clout that could ring in here and offer some advice, it would be hugely appreciated. I believe that I and many others are looking for a reasonable product, that offers source code, a decent platform, timely support and a secure site. Are there any products out there that offer this in the $100-$250 range???
Guys, Please stay away from guruscript. I bought their real estate script and wasted my $24. The script was buggy and the downloaded package came with some crappy documenation. The homepage took more than 25 seconds to load after installation and as per their support thats the standard. Even more curious thing was in the admin panel the option to delete/edit property was missing. After going through the code I figured they have hardcoded some images/buttons from other website and that site was down. So the edit/delete button was not appearing. The entire source code looks like copy pasted code from here and there. I tried their support and I even raised a dispute at paypal. I guess I lost my $. But I learned my lesson. Never will rush in before I purchase a script.
Just wanting to share my experience with these guys. I've bought a script (gurufreelance) the other day. It is full of bugs, very poorly written. To customize it with your site name (and domain) you have to edit almost every file manually because the script they deliver is basically a backup copy of their demo site. Their site name is everywhere and I've personally spent 2 days editing php files trying to get some customization. Script itself doesn't even work that good. Cronjob scripts are bugged, rss doesn't work properly and so on... Graphic customization is almost impossible (they provide 2 psd files that have nothing to do with the actual site). A lot of options (payment gateways for example) cannot be enabled/disabled easily, you'll have to manually remove (hide) these options editing template files. A lot of things (the currency symbol £ for example) are not a db value that you can change server wide but are inserted into the template files so, once again, you'll have to edit the files manually to change the value. I gave up after 2 days of headaches. You're warned!

I was looking for a script and found your site, then later found this thread. After looking through the demos, I have to say that you, the website, the company and your staff are a complete joke and you are a total loser in life.
I picked up the crowdfunding script a while back. Took me some time but I got everything to work. Issues: I could not login to the admin site because the encryption function was written with a bug in it. And users could not login because of the encryption bug as well. There is also some weird file includes that are required for a mysql connection that I had to rewrite. Anyway: I must admit that it is difficult to debug a script that you are not familiar with. As for the graphics, I don't care about the front end. It's easy to do a layout in Photoshop and slice into tables. I wanted the back end to build on and extend for our needs. These scripts are not for the novice who is just learning PHP. You also need to know how the paypal ipn system works. Sorry, but this script was worth the $50 bucks for me. Even if I had to do some extra work, I enjoyed the challenge. If you don't have time or don't know how to modify the code than this script is not for you.
bad experience with guruscript. Had professional systems admin and dba look at the script.they said its full of bugs and has tons of links pointing to other sites---not good to say the least.gurulance wont work on most hosting.
