Growing traffic but 0.10% CTR

I have recently noticed a significant increase in traffic for my site, but I am worried about the extremely low CTR rate, namely 0.10%.

    What am I doing wrong?

Well, maybe your website design doesn't convert.

    You should try different theme.

I have a good theme that can improve your CTR.

    PM me for more detail.

Hi, if you'd give us more information or the site itself we will be able to see exactly what's up.

try changing the color of the ads try contrasting them against your site design and try blending them with content.

try placing them in different positions.

try different ad units and styles

Unless your website is consumer focused your CTR rate won't be that high

Here are some tips that always help:

    1. Visit your site as if you don't own it.
    2. Ask yourself if you will click on the ads that are shown.
    3. If not, ask yourself how you can make the ads so prominent that they are irresistible to click.
    4. Reformat your site. If you need to do the coding manually do that.
    5. Drive more traffic then split test again.

    Hope that helps. Good luck.

You should try blending your ads in more with the content.
Also try experimenting with different ad styles and placement areas.

Change your theme and adsense size and colour combinations, then your ctr will definitely increase... Use more ads units within your post content to boost CTR. Normally there is high CTR on ads below headline and at the end of your post. Because if you have good content, then your readers want to read some more tips on your site so they click on ads unit to navigate from the current page to read the topic in detail...

probably a mix of theme, content, ad type and incorrectly targeting ads.

your demographic is probably 10-15 years old (im guessing) 90% of the ads ive just seen are irrelevant. also im guessing your audience doesn't convert that well.
Maybe with a bit of work you could get it up to 0.5% but i think that probably the limit for the site in its current state.

try adding more content that uses buyer keywords and an older demographic.

You might be better off using Amazon Affiliates instead of Adsense and putting up ads for the Harry Potter Books/DVDs/Merchandise. The only thing with this is if your Targeting all countries then you would need a script to change Amazon to the relevant country. E.g Amazon.Com for USA Visitors, Amazon.Co.Uk for UK Visitors.

Or if there are any Harry Potter related online games, mail them and see if you can sell direct ad spots advertising there game.

As for your site itself, I'm pretty sure you could find a free H.P Wordpress Theme - This would liven up your site 200%.

Just out of curiosity, How much Traffic per day are you getting?
