The site I am asking about is www.bandsaw-blades.com Almost all of the pages on the site are supplimental from Google. Things I've already checked. 1) Titles and Descriptions have been unique for at least 6 months probably more. 2)Pages are not dynamic, so no problems with too many parameters. 3)Unique content on all of the pages. There are a few pages that are similar because they are price lists, but there is still unique content on them. The problem also occurs with pages that have a lot of content and are unique. 4)HTML validation is not too bad, mostly just missing alt tags on a few of the images. 5)Links, always room for improvement there but I have links from several key sites in the field (for the topic of the site) About 250 links some are PR4 and above. I am frequently adding new links. I got a couple PR 6 links about two months ago. 6)All of the suplimental pages have not been recashed sence about May (problem there) Index problem with http://www.bandsaw-blades.com/BandSawBladeTips.htm currently not indexed but it has a PR 5 (Couple good links to it). It does well in the serps with MSN and Yahoo, Zip from Google Why is Google disliking this site? Have I missed something?
Too low qualty content These pages: http://www.bandsaw-blades.com/bandsaw.htm http://www.bandsaw-blades.com/bimetal.htm Lack real quality content so they are supplemental. Building links can improve this. http://www.1stsearchenginerankings....-supplemental-results-and-how-to-get-removed/ For the other page which has a PR5 it is still indexed just doesn't show up in Google.
Yah, those pages need a little more work. I'm wondering if the price lists are making them look like duplicate content. Debating whether I should turn the price lists into images so they don't dilute the keywords and sentance structure. If it is just content quality then the Personal History and Comapny History pages should have enough to get past that. Also the PR 5 page has been around for several months, doesn't make sence that it is indexed but not listed.
They could use a little more content as well and add Bandsaw to the title tag.Add a more descriptive desctription tag as well.
Hi, adac, even though I don´t think this is the problem - with such small site it could help to avoid any duplicate content (www/non-www)...
I'm not sure that the www is much of a problem anymore. I was reading the Google blog (not Matts). They were talking about improvments in thier algo to be able to see percieved duplicates and choose the best one in the site. They specifically mentioned the www problem as well as straight domain "www.bandsaw-blades.com" vrs the default page of the site "www.bandsaw-blades.com/default.htm". I have also set the "Prefered Domain" in the Google webmaster tools.
Here is an interesting post on the subject http://groups.google.com/group/Goog...7e2a6efc4bf/6e4c733aa7f18098#6e4c733aa7f18098 This guy is a " Search Evangelist for Google" Not sure what that means but his profile gives the impression he works for Google? He uses the term "We" when talking about Google. Hard to say how crediable this is.
Ha ha ha... Yup.. I know dude... what I meant is MC is always discouraging 'active' link building and Adam said to 'get more'.... So it was tongue in cheek silly.... .... or maybe I WILL tell on him... ha ha ha ha ha ADDED; thanks for the link though.. hadn't read that. A Google 'Cuttlett'... oh that is rich. I wanted to be one once...then I realized I had a life already --- lol
I get it now ! I think I need a beer to end my Friday - I think I have lost my humor after a full work week .
