which phpld version is best v 4.1 or v 4.2 current i useing phpld V4.1 but someone suggest me use 4.2 so i want to know about this

only reply that person who useing phpld Scrpits on his own website

There were many small issues in 4.1 and most of them got fixed in 4.2 .

Once I tried 4.2 I wouldn't go back to 4.1 . So I would definitely recommend 4.2.

I am running one 4.1 and one 4.2 phpld at the moment.

I would also recommend 4.2.
It has some new features that you can read about here.

 

We also have a 4.2.1 coming out shortly. It is already available in beta to license holders, and offers significant speed improvements. It is a quick update, and doesn't mess with templates (except a couple of minor changes that are not critical). A couple of things it does:
1. Cache the count of links in categories, significantly increasing category page load times
2. Reduces the load on the hits table, another mysql speed improvement (especially for larger sites).
3. Removes scriptacuous and moo tools, updates jquery and jqueryUI, and gets them from the Google CDN. Often people already have these cached in their browser, so another speed improvement.
4. If you have a category dump (even an old one), you can add it during the install process.

As I was writing this, I just saw a new install with all the US cities and states, and you click through the categories and they load almost instantly, even California with a few hundred cities, and that is with the cache turned off.

Here are 10 more http://www.mitredesign.co.uk/phpld-templates.html including a couple of free ones. There are always more templates being released over time. There is also a change log in the phpLD forums with instructions of upgrading templates from 4.1 to 4.2. We'll try to release some new ones soon as well.

 

i am still wating new templates and my suggestion is add atlest 100+ new templates then peopels buy more phpld Licence cos peopels want uniqune things so same templates are same contant in google eyes

 

They aren't always free, but I think there probably are 100 templates available right now for 4.2. If everything is free, often the free templates become less unique over time. If you look in the adverts section there are quite a few template developers always releasing more themes. There is a user rahim701, that has some really interesting templates that come with about a dozen color variations and he has a built in color switcher in his demo. That said, we will try to add some new free ones soon too.

 

Hi, if you are waiting for "free" ones, then these free ones eventually be used by N directories. As David said, they will all be less unique over time.

I have one template 4.2 available that you may consider, not free though. see my signature please. In terms of uniqueness... I am still the only one using that template at the moment. And I know PHPLD is going to release 4.2.1 small update (not sure when), so my template will also have update version to match that. I also provide personal "support" regarding to the template only , which you won't get from the free ones.

I'm trying to get a couple more upgraded this week and added to the available downloads.

And yes, we have been working with the user unknownpray and they are using 4.2 and 4.2.1 and speed is very fast, among the best I have ever seen.
