All my sites were "penalized" today. Anyone else?

All my sites (I have about 30 of them) dropped in rank today, mostly about 50 or more places according my handy little iPhone app that use to check on my stats.

I had used ALN on some of these in the past, but certainly not all of them. Nothing dark-hat... maybe a little grey... no spammy comments or profile links. Many of these sites were ranking on some very good juice, like guest posts and Web 2.0 properties that I had manually built myself.... stuff like that.

Maybe it's a fluke... Maybe not. My sites have bounced around before, and I usually don't panic too much since I'm used to watching them dance. But, they normally don't all move down that much, and definitely not all at once. These are all pretty mature sites... most of them a couple of years old.

I have a VPS (Virtual Private Server) with Liquid Web, and most of these sites were on a single IP address. All of them were in the same Google Analytics account. Could Google be penalizing me by IP address, or by linking everything via my Google Analytics account?

    Interesting, to say the least.

    Anyone else seeing this?

Maybe your kind of link building methods are spammy and blackhat. Better to work with organic way of SEO optimization.

Sorry i have no experience in like that to help you, my website has been no rank in Google rank, so I have to change the way I did to get backlinks carefully and now it's stable. I think you should review the way you do to get backlinks

I definitely wouldn't recommend putting all your websites under a single Google Analytics account. It instantly tells Google which sites you own and if one or more of your sites is detected as using methods against the Google guidelines, then it can potentially affect all the other sites.

Does Google actually look at it like this, or are you saying that this is possible?

I'm assuming you are responding to my comment.

There's plenty of anecdotal evidence to suggest that having multiple sites under a single Google account can be detrimental.

Not withstanding that, you leave a very big footprint for everyone else to come along and discover all the websites you own.

My keywords also have a little fluctuation for the ranks each day. But I won't worry about it. It happens.

You are penalized because ......... you have done over optimization.

if you have 50 sites and all hosted in one VPS, moreover if you build 1 link to another 49 sites then google might be considered it as a spam. But without looking, no one can give you a satisfactory answer.
