Hi, This has happened for the first time with me. I got sms from citibank first confirming that cheque was cleared and then another sms saying that the cheque bounced. I am yet to hear from them the reason for this. Can someone tell me if there's a way out. What all alternatives do I have? Thank you in advance
Yes - you definitely need to contact google. Unfortunately international banking has lots of hidden problems. Years ago I sold £75,000 of goods to a customer in Pakistan with payment by irrevocal letter of credit. Customers bank paid but what I didn't know was that the money got transferred to my bank via 'correspondent' banks. And my money got stuck in a bank called BICC (who neither I nor my customer had any dealings with) just as they went bankrupt. Guess what - I lost all the money! Not saying this will happen to you - but just a warning that international banking is more risky than most people think. If possible, it's always a good idea to use local banks that have correspondent bank status with the overseas bank sending any payment.
the money might have got stuck in that acct is because your bank might not have branches in Pakistan, when this is the case then the money is sent to a mutual bank which conginee's bank suggests to consigner's bank. happens to me all the time when i m exporting stuff from Pakistan to UAE. while for the OP reason i believe CITI Bank has branches worldwide and in almost in all famous countries so there would never be a middle bank and for that he must contact google,
I agree - Is it me or is anyone else fed up of people asking why Google have done something when I doubt very many of us on here work for Google (And even we did what could we do to help???). Ask Google - don't waste time asking here!
Well you need to contact both Citibank and Adsense. Contact Citibank first, and tell them about both of their Messages, as it might be the error from the banking side. However if they don't find any problem in their system then contact Adsense regarding to this problem.
you have got so many good answers before... i suggest to go to citi bank first then to google adsense. because as you said you got the message of cheque clearance from them first..so you can ask the reason for it show you message and ask reason for it . they will clearfy everything about your cheque .
